Singaporean parents who are expecting (or planning for) their new bundle of joy in 2015 have much to look forward to!

To commemorate Singapore’s 50th Anniversary, all Singaporean babies born next year will each receive a Jubilee Baby Gift Pack, as reported by the National Population and Talent Division. The 8 items included in the Jubilee Baby Gift Pack are:

A special medallion
Multi-functional shawl
Baby sling
Set of baby clothes
Diaper bag
Scrapbook
Photo frame
Baby book

All the items included in the pack (excluding the baby book) were the top choices in a month-long public poll in which approximately 20,000 votes were cast.

Gifts for the next generation

The population agency has commented that the Jubilee Baby Gift Pack contains “a balance of practical and meaningful items” and that it is “symbolic of what Singaporeans wish to give to the next generation.”

The Jubilee Baby Gift symbolises the hopes and wishes of the current generation of Singaporeans to the next.

“The Jubilee Baby Gift symbolises our best wishes, hopes and aspirations from this generation of Singaporeans to the next. We hope that parents will enjoy the gift as they use the items to care for their babies, to capture happy memories for their families, and to commemorate their child’s birth in the Jubilee Year,” explains Ms. Anita Fam, Chairperson for the Jubilee Baby Gift Advisory Panel.

Details on how parents will receive the Jubilee Baby Gift in 2015 will be announced later this year.
