We give you 5 simple recipes that lets you cook up a storm in just 5 minutes. Say goodbye to fast food runs and hello to a healthier lifestyle with these yummy and easy snacks that are great for you and your waistline.

The best bruschettas are loved for their flavours. Because they are so simple and fuss-free, you should select the finest quality ingredients to whip this dish to perfection.   Ingredients: 4 cups of tomatoes  1/2 an onion 4 cloves fresh garlic 1 bunch of basil 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil sea salt and fresh ground pepper Italian bread or baguette   1. Dice the tomatoes into a large bowl 2. Chop the onion and garlic into the bowl 3. Add in fresh basil and splash in the olive oil, salt and pepper 4. Spread the mix on top of the bread 5. Toast the bread until golden brown   Serve and enjoy!

Fancy 5-Minute Grilled Cheese

 

What could go wrong with a yummy warm grilled cheese sandwich? Nothing, apparently, as we guide you through this quick and easy yet delicious recipe for a snack that never fails to please!   Ingredients: 2 slices of bread 1 cube of cheese spread (We pick: The Laughing Cow Light) 1 piece of roasted red pepper  1 slice of cheese 1 tablespoon of salted butter at room temperature 2 separate dashes of garlic powder   1. Spread the cheese cube onto a slice of bread 2. Slice red pepper into strips and place them on the bread and cheese 3. Top with the slice of cheese and cover with the other slice of bread 4. Spread 1/2 tbsp of butter onto the upward-facing slice of bread and sprinkle it with a dash of garlic powder. 5. Gently place the sandwich in the hot grill pan with the buttered side down 6. Spread the rest of the butter onto the other upward-facing side and sprinkle with the remaining dash of garlic powder 7. Cook until the cheese has melted and the bread is golden brown (1 to 2 minutes per side. Remember to flip carefully!)    Enjoy!

The classic baked potato makes our list with this super easy recipe! Indulge yourself in a healthy way as you whizz through meal preparation without any trouble. Definitely a hot favourite for all.   Ingredients: 1 russet potato 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (We pick: low-fat) 1 cup of baby spinach 1/4 cup of marinara sauce 1 tbsp of shredded mozzarella cheese Mixed Italian herb blend   1. Poke a few holes in a small potato with a fork and microwave it for 3 minutes 2. Stir the low-fat cottage cheese, baby spinach and marinara sauce together 3. Slice the potato and stuff with cottage cheese mixture into the pocket  4. Top with mozzarella cheese and a dash of an Italian herb blend 5. Microwave 2 minutes until heated through   Serve hot.

Find out how to dish out this hassle-free delight that is a favourite for many kids and adults.   Ingredients: Rice Water Salt Optional fillings  Dried seaweed strips (nori)   1. Mix the rice with salt and water to taste 2. Place the rice and any extra ingredients onto a piece of plastic wrap 3. Form it into a triangle or a ball.  4. Wrap your rice ball in seaweed and you’re good to go   Have fun!

The simplest of all dishes because you don’t even have to go near the oven, this dish is especially child-friendly if your kid wants to help in the kitchen. Tasty, healthy and light, it’s sure to leave your dinner guests wanting more.   Ingredients: 1 can salmon (Tuna works too!) 1/2 cup chickpeas 1 tbsp of olive oil 1 tbsp of chopped tomatoes Lettuce Dried dill   1. Drain one small can of salmon or tuna 2.Toss with the chickpeas, olive oil, chopped tomatoes and a sprinkle of dried dill 3. Serve in bib lettuce leaves or in a wholemeal wrap   Pack it in your lunchbox today!
