Carrots are naturally sweet and highly nutritious.

According to whfoods.org, these bright colored root crops are rich in Vitamin A, minerals, and antioxidants. This means that they are great for your child's heart, blood, skin, eyes, and immune system.

However, not all kids like to eat carrots or vegetables for that matter. They prefer to eat savory, cheesy, sweet and attractively presented foods.

Hmm, why not serve them with some savoury, cheesy, sweet and deliciously-looking carrot dishes?

Here are 7 Carrot Recipes that Your Child Will Truly Like.

1. Carrot Juice

Give your child a vitamin A boost in the morning. Prepare a juice of carrots. Add in some pineapple chunks or peeled apple slices to make it sweeter.

In this way, your child absorbs the carrot's nutrients quicker through the blood and digests it easier.

If your child likes to eat rice, then add some minuscule dices of steamed carrots, green peas, and scrambled egg.

Children love baked goods like a quiche that has a creamy filling and crunchy crust.

1.9 inch folded refrigerated unbaked piecrust

1/2 cup finely shredded carrot

1/4 cup chopped green onion

3 eggs, beaten

1 1/2 cups milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

Dash ground nutmeg

1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1. Let piecrust stand at room temperature according to package directions. Unfold piecrust and ease into a 9-inch pie plate. Fold edge under and flute as desired. Line pastry with double thickness of foil.

2. Bake in a 230 degree C oven for 5 minutes. Carefully remove foil. Bake for 5 minutes more.

3. Remove from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 163 degrees C.

4. In a small saucepan cook carrot and green onion in a small amount of water about 4 minutes or until tender. Drain, pressing out excess liquid with the back of a spoon. Set vegetables aside.

5. In a mixing bowl stir together eggs, milk, salt, and nutmeg. Add carrot and onion; set aside. Toss together cheese and flour. Place piecrust with cheese mixture on oven rack. Carefully pour in egg-vegetable mixture.

6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into wedges.

Cakes are children's favourite, as are a sure way to squeeze in some nutrients into your child's body.

Try this healthy carrot cake and bake it with your child for added fun and stimulation.

2 cups whole wheat flour

2 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. salt

2 cup grated carrots

1 cup yogurt

1 1/2 cup homemade apple puree

1 cup raisins

1 cup muscovado sugar

Cream cheese frosting on top

1. Preheat the oven to 180 C.

2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl: flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

3. Grate the carrots and add along with the rest of the ingredients to the flour mixture. Mix well.

4. Transfer to a greased pan. Bake for 40-50 min until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.

5. Cool for 30 min and then frost with cream cheese frosting.

A soup made with pureed carrots is one of the easiest dish to do and to feed your child with.

Simply put in a casserole a piece of onion, a couple of garlic cloves and two pieces of peeled carrots. Boil. Season with salt. Puree with a blender and serve.
