5 activities to keep your marriage alive

13 May, 2013

If you feel like the spark is running out of your marriage, rekindle it by engaging in some of these activities. Take some time off to simply bask in the company of one another - it will do wonders for you and your marriage!

1. Enjoy the music

1. Enjoy the music

Head out to a cosy bar with a live band, dance the night away to. Don’t be afraid to let loose and look a little silly. Laugh a little, live a little!

Go to a karaoke bar or an open mic bar and belt out a few tunes. Confidence is key when it comes to this activity, even if your voices aren't the best – remember this is about spending time with one another.
2. Get your adrenaline levels up

2. Get your adrenaline levels up

Engage in activities that encompass extreme sports like bungee jumping or sky diving, as a couple. You and your spouse can jump/dive together and make the experience that much more memorable. Go for a ride on the scariest roller coaster in you can find. Scream your heart out and hold hands while doing it.

Go paintball shooting, go-karting or lazer tagging with each other. These couple activities are fun while being mentally and physically challenging too.
3. Share a meal

3. Share a meal

Make reservations at a fancy restaurant you’ve always wanted to try. Indulge in something new and different. Pamper yourselves, you deserve it!

Dine somewhere unique like on a yacht, at the botanical gardens, or at a rooftop bar. Not only will you enjoy the food, but the location, view and of course, each other!
4. Spend a little

4. Spend a little

Book a night at a luxurious hotel in your area or even out of town. It’s always a good idea to get away for awhile if you can. Go for a swim in the pool, order room service or pig out at the buffet. Revel in the company of one another, you’re sure to rediscover the spark!

Hop on to a plane, train or bus to anywhere. Stay in a romantic resort or explore the tourist spots in the area. You can get away for a night or two as long as you’ve got someone to watch the kids for a weekend!
5. Romance on a budget

5. Romance on a budget

Pack a picnic basket and lay out a huge blanket in your backyard, balcony, or a nearby park. Engage in conversations or read book side by side.

Rent a movie and watch it at home in the dark, curl up together under a blanker. Since the kids won't be home, watch a horror movie or something other than animated films that you’ve been watching with the kids.
