15 Things mums ALWAYS have in their purse

It seems like mums always have exactly what their kids need exactly when they need it. What's the secret to this uncanny ability to provide whatever and whenever? Two words: mum bag.

Yes, mothers are pretty much toting around Mary Popppins' bag at all times. While you may not find a lamp, or a coatrack in your mum's purse, that mum bag has things that are essential to childcare and motherhood.

BuzzFeed recently took the time to compose a list of the things that your mum definitely has in her purse, and we loved their list so much, we made our own.

Check out this list, mums, and let us know if we accurately described the contents of your mum bag!
1. Every receipt from every purchase ever!

1. Every receipt from every purchase ever!

Mums are typically well organised and work hard to keep track of the family's expenses. Whether you're the kind of mummy who organises the receipts and keeps them handy, or the type to ball them up and toss them haphazardly in your mum bag, there's no doubt you have dozens of receipts in your purse!
2. At least one pack of tissues

2. At least one pack of tissues

Mums are very nurturing individuals. This means that whenever they see their kids about to sneeze, they hastily reach down in their mum bag for a pack of tissues. These little guys have more use than for wiping noses, too. They're great makeshift napkins and paper towels. Admit it, mums, you have one or more of these packs floating around your purse.
3. A mini bottle of lotion

3. A mini bottle of lotion

Mums have some pretty hard working hands. As a result, they have to work to keep them moisturized and hydrated. Every mum has at least one mini bottle of moisturizing lotion for the hands or face in their bag at all times!
4. All kinds of lip products

4. All kinds of lip products

Whether they're for beauty, care, or maintenance, every mum is carrying a multitude of lip products int heir purse at any given time.
5. Every color of pen imaginable

5. Every color of pen imaginable

I've never been sure if mums keep different colors of pens handy because they have different uses, or out of sheer happenstance. In any case, if you're ever in a bind and are in desperate need of a pen, have no fear--Mum is here!
6. Hand sanitizer

6. Hand sanitizer

Kids are constantly running around and touching things that are imbued with germs and bacteria. Mums, being ever vigilant, know this and are always prepared with a bottle or two of these handy (pun intended) bottles of sanitizer to help keep their kids safe and clean.
7. A handful of bobby pins

7. A handful of bobby pins

This amount of these only multiplies if you're the mother of a daughter or two. Either way, mums of all children have (at minimum) a few bobby pins floating around somewhere in their mum bag.
8. Gum and/or mints

8. Gum and/or mints

Mums have the uncanny ability to have gum or mints available on a moment's notice. Mums know that kids sometimes get a bit of a sweet tooth...and maybe they have one themselves, too.
9. Some type of portable fan

9. Some type of portable fan

You may not be toting around a hand fan as classy as the one seen above, but admit it, mummies. You've got some type of portable source of coolness in that mum bag! Sometimes in the intense heat, having one of these around is perfect for cooling off you and the kids.
10. Enough spare change to break the bank

10. Enough spare change to break the bank

It's better to come prepared than unprepared. That's why mums always have crazy amounts of spare change available for all types of practical uses. Whether it's to make exact change at the store, or to pay the parking meter, change is very useful...that's why mummies always have heaps of it in their mum bags.
11. Medicine for every type of ailment

11. Medicine for every type of ailment

You've got a fever? Here you go. You've got a tummy ache? This will help. Sore throat? I've got you covered. Any situation, big or small, mums are prepared with their portable pharmacy a.k.a. a mum bag.
12. Checkbook

12. Checkbook

The use of a checkbook speaks for itself, so there's no need to disclose why a mum would need one of these handy! It's worth noting that mums typically have a specially designed checkbook holder, though. Are we right?
13. Hand wipes

13. Hand wipes

These things are life savers. They kill bacteria, they're great for cleaning, and they even come in pocket size singles. Look down in your mum bag, you're guaranteed to have at least one pack of these useful little wipes laying around.
14. Assorted snacks

14. Assorted snacks

When the gum and mints aren't cutting it, mums bring out the big guns: assorted snacks! Now, which type of snack is in the mum bag is dependent on the family and the mother. However, it's safe to bet that there's some type of snack available in that bag!
15. A wide variety of coupons

15. A wide variety of coupons

Mums are usually pretty responsible with money. As a result they tend to be smart shoppers, and smart shoppers use coupons. Mums often have a wide variety of coupons ready for any type of purchase!
