A woman from South Africa allegedly cut open a pregnant woman to steal the baby from her womb—the wounded mother was left laying there to perish. The crazed 29-year-old from Johannesburg was pretending to be pregnant before she launched an attack on the other pregnant woman.
A police spokeswoman, Appel Ernst, said: “The stomach of a 34-year-old woman was cut open with a sharp object and her baby taken out. The suspect was later arrested after she (showed) up at a clinic with a newborn baby with a cut on its head.”
A mother’s sacrifice
Fortunately, the baby is alive and well but the mother was not as lucky. According to Appel: “This is an unusual case. Initial investigation has suggested that the mother had bled to death while giving birth.” However, there are quite a few reported cases of stolen newborns in South Africa, which is reportedly a place that has high violent crime rates.
Another case in USA
Not too long ago, there was another case reported on a Wisconsin native– Annette Morales-Rodriguez. This woman performed a C-Section on a woman she had abducted — using techniques she had learnt from Discovery Channel.
Apparently, Annette desperately wanted a baby because her boyfriend wanted one so she had pretended that she was pregnant. She grew more anxious and desperate as the fictional “due date” was fast approaching. Annette had been trying to find a pregnant woman for two weeks and found Ramirez-Cruz—who was already a mother of three. Ramirez was at the wrong place, at the wrong time. Babies are such a blessing
This story comes from the other end of the spectrum where women go through great lengths to steal a baby–then there is the polar opposite of baby dumping. These true horror tales makes us treasure our little tots so much more. There are many women out there who may not have the privilege of getting pregnant or becoming a parent. We should count our blessings and appreciate our gift—our babies; our life.
