Walk of a Lifetime: Uniting for Autism Awareness

Step into a world of compassion and change. Join the 'Walk of a Lifetime' on October 14 to support Autism Awareness. Together, we make a difference!

  • Date: 14 October 2023
  • Time: 4pm – 8pm
  • Location: St. Andrew’s Junior College, 5 Sorby Adams Dr

Autism is a lifelong journey, and no one should undertake it alone. On the 14th of October 2023, St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) invites you to be part of a meaningful event, the “Walk of a Lifetime.” SAAC, a beacon of support for individuals with autism, is hosting its inaugural charity walk after 18 years of dedicated service. This event is open to all members of the public and promises an enriching experience for a great cause.

Walking Together for a Worthy Cause

The “Walk of a Lifetime” invites participants to join in a 5km fun walk alongside SAAC’s students, clients, and residents. It’s a unique opportunity to engage with the SAAC community and show solidarity with those on the autism spectrum.

Celebrating Uniqueness with Best Dressed Awards

One of the highlights of the event is the “Best Dressed Awards.” Participants are encouraged to showcase their creativity by dressing up in a way that represents and celebrates the uniqueness of individuals with autism. This not only adds an element of fun to the walk but also fosters a deeper understanding of autism.

Spreading Awareness at Autism Awareness Booths

The event will also feature Autism Awareness booths where you can learn more about autism, the work SAAC does, and the various ways you can contribute to the cause. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the lives of those on the autism spectrum and find out how you can make a difference.

Supporting the Journey

All proceeds from the “Walk of a Lifetime” will go toward funding the various programs and services offered by SAAC. These programs include special education schools, day activity centers, and residential homes designed to support individuals with autism and their families. Your participation will directly contribute to making a difference in their lives.

For your convenience, here are some transportation options to get to the event:

– Public Transport: Alight at Potong Pasir MRT Station and take Exit C. At street level, take Bus 142 at the bus stop 60621 (you will see Old Chang Kee). Alight at Bus Stop 61101 (Blk 120, opposite Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital).
