Vivian Hsu Shares P6 Graduation Photo, Talks About Difficult Childhood

Vivian Hsu opens up about her difficult childhood after she posted her Primary Six graduation photo.

It was #throwbackthursday for Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu as she shared a photo from her primary school days.

In a Facebook post yesterday (June 17), the 46-year-old posted her Primary Six graduation photo and joked about how someone could have a crush on her with that bad hairstyle.

“They must have seen my inner beauty,” Vivian wrote.

On a serious note, the singer also delved into her tough childhood, how her parents divorced when she was nine years old, and living with her father in Taichung along with her younger brother.

She said that her father was busy and didn’t have time to bother with something like her hair.

“When I was in Primary Three, I had to cook for myself and my brother, wash our uniforms,” she shared, adding that she didn’t know about ironing clothes then so they often wore crinkled uniforms to school.

Her post garnered many messages of encouragement and sympathy from her fans and friends. One even said that as a kid, she resembled her six-year-old son, Dalton.

Vivian married Singaporean businessman Sean Lee and moved to our sunny shores in 2014.

Difficult Childhood: How to Create a Loving Environment At Home

As a couple, you may have difference of opinion, but you remember to not let that affect your child. Kids who have a difficult childhood go through a lot of emotional turmoil. It is, therefore, very important to in still a positive environment at home.

Here’s how you can help your child.

1. Do not give up on your child

Transition back to school after COVID-19

Sometimes, doing little things around the house or at school may seem like a hard task to your little ones. This is because they are not fully aware of their abilities.

If you hear your child saying “But I can’t,” encourage them to give it their best shot and they may actually surprise themselves.

2. Encourage them by saying-“I believe in you”

Tell and show your little ones that you are their number one fan and that you believe in them, no matter what.

3. Never fight in front of the child

Never fight or engage in violent clashes in front of your child. It will scar them forever. Sort your differences, when your child is not around you.

4. Always do your best

Teach your child to always try their very best in whatever situation they may find themselves and never settle for anything less.

5. Teach them to be grateful

Say “thank you” often and let them understand that they should be grateful for what they have. Teach them the value of love, respect and humility. After all, kids emulate parents, so watch your behaviour in front of them.

Ensuring a positive environment at home will help them in their growth and development.
