Fathers are the first teachers, especially when it comes to sons. A father can really make a big difference when it comes to teaching them life skills. This will also nurture the bond between a father and a son.

Here are 11 things that only a dad can each his son.
#1 Read good books

Since it is said that leaders are readers, make your boy read daily for at least 15 minutes. This will not only enhance his vocabulary, but also boost his self confidence.

Reading books will help him in his academics as well. It will also make you recollect his baby moments when you told him stories. Reading will gradually become a nurturing activity that will bring the two of you closer together.
#2 Play an instrument

You never know, one day your boy might become a famous musician. Music improves the memory of your kid, besides inculcating discipline and patience in him. It helps them connect socially as well by participating in musical groups, which can be a great way for them to learn about team spirit.
#3 Play sports

Instead of wasting their time by letting them watch TV and play video games for hours, it's better to involve him in sports.

Playing sports will make him physically fit and also develop his athletic skills. It will teach him about team work and help him build his self esteem. Sports also help develop leadership skills and makes them focus on a goal.

Let him be Bear Grylls for few days. Sending your kid to camp can be one of the most rewarding and unforgettable experiences of his life. Going for a summer camp or any adventurous camp will give him wonderful memories and teach him most important lessons of life.

It will make him responsible and independent. It will develop his social skills and help him build his character. Camping makes them face the obstacles and teaches them how to overcome them.

That is the most impressive skill a guy should have. Learning to tie a shoelace is one of the most important skills that your child can have and one that also helps them concentrate.

Teaching them how to tie the basic knots that we come across every day will make him independent and he would also feel like he has a sense on control on his life. It will bring him a step closer to becoming a gentleman.

Bring out that hidden artist in him. Painting a wall will be the a super fun activity for the both of you. It will bring out all his creativity. You will also get to spend some quality time with your son and he will learn to value someone's hard work.

Prepare him from now for his high school prom party. Teach your son at this stage the important qualities that gentlemen have. This will strengthen the father-son relationship as well. Teach the the basic qualities such as respecting a woman, a strong hand shake, table manners and politeness.

Teach him to help others by small examples such as offering his seat to a senior citizen or a pregnant lady. Make them understand the value of saying sorry and thank you.

Let him be his own hero. A father is the only person who can teach his son how a man should dress up. it would be great if you could also teach him how to laundry and iron his clothes. In future if he moves to other place for studies or job, this will help to manage things himself and also help in completing the household chores.

If you want him to become a successful man, teach him the value of money from today. Teach him how to manage his own pocket money and inculcate the habit of saving from now. This will make him responsible and he won't unnecessary demand or spend money. Make it a habit for him to save a part of his pocket money in a small piggy bank.

It's important to teach your child to stick to his words right from the beginning because that's when you can lay the foundation of a good human being. This will inculcate the value of honesty in him and make him a stronger individual in future. He will also have a better sense of nurturing the relationships.

Your son will go through ups and downs throughout his life. It is important for him to face the obstacles and overcome that. If he won't learn this now, it will create problems for him in future. Teaching him how to handle small losses such as loosing a game, failures and fights with friends will make him brave and courageous.
