Here Are 8 Things We Should Thank Our Awesome Mums For Doing

4 min read

Our mums are usually the ones who know us best. They can tell when we have problems, and they know exactly just what to do to turn our frowns upside down. Sometimes however, we can take our mums for granted for all the wonderful things that they do for us. Here’s a list of a few of the things we forget to thank our mums for.

1. All the times our mum helped us with our problems

Mums give us advice, act as a shoulder that we can lean on, and whenever they can’t fix a problem for us, usually a hug will make everything feel better. The word “mum” should be synonymous with “superhero” with all the amazing things that they do for us. A simple thank you and a tight hug can make our mums feel that we appreciate all of their efforts.

2. Being our personal cheerleader

Our mums will always cheer for us, no matter what. Even if we got last place in a contest, our mums will always find a way to make us feel like we’re number one. Thanks mum!

3. Being overprotective

Mums are naturally overprotective. They can’t help it, it’s all a part of being a mum. And whether we like it or not, our mums still look after us even if we’re all grown up. It’s their own special way of telling us that no matter what happens, they will take care of us.

4. Buying us things that we wanted (but didn’t really need)

Money isn’t easy to come by. Though, when we were kids, we thought that our parents can buy us anything. It makes you wonder how much our mums had to sacrifice just so we can have the coolest bag in school, the newest clothes or the tastiest snacks.

5. Cooking for us

This really is something that most of us take for granted. Our mums have always provided for us ever since we were born. They wake up early everyday to prepare our breakfast, and they also cook our lunch, our snacks, and dinner. It’s another way that our mums show just how much they care about us.

6. Doing their best to keep the family together

While our dads are equally amazing, our mums have this knack for keeping the family together. Whenever we fight with our siblings, or if we have a falling out with either one of our parents, mums still try and do their best to keep the family close. Mums have this magical ability to keep us together, and I don’t know where we will be without them.

7. Keeping our things (and our lives) organized

Our mums fix our beds whenever we forget to make them, they clean our rooms, they know where all our clothes are, and they also remind to to work on that science assignment that we’ve been putting off. Makes you wonder how they can do all that and also take care of the family, and still find time to be fabulous. It’s a mystery.

8. Just loving us in general

Love is the reason why our mums do all these things for us. Even if we act like the worst human beings sometimes, they still love us unconditionally. That’s why it’s very important that we do our best to make sure that our mums know that we love them back, even small gestures of appreciation like sending a text or just by simply saying thank you can make our mothers feel that we do appreciate all their efforts.
