There is a new kid on the block – The George Washington Preschool has arrived in Singapore!
The George Washington Preschool Singapore has opened its doors to all preschoolers aged 2 to 5 residing in Singapore. Slated as a preschool with a real difference, its founders stuck doggedly to their beliefs and values of early childhood development, right from conceptualizing the school premises to the selection of the its Director and teachers, to a careful focus on the low student to teacher ratio. There has been no compromise made on the quality of the preschool, every step of the way.
To promote its National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) endorsed High Scope curriculum, the preschool’s premises and layout are refreshingly different. Fluid, spacious classrooms and technology help drive the belief of learning to play and playing to learn. The teachers who watch over no more than 5 students at any one time, review the children’s development daily with the Director, customizing the next teaching session to optimize their learning in a fun way.
Incorporating fun and learning for your little one
The school has selected High Scope, as it is a world recognized American curriculum for preschool aged children. This well-defined curriculum has been validated, researched, evaluated and its effectiveness demonstrated across the globe in American and international settings.
Facilitated with great teaching staffs
Deborah Lalonde has been appointed as the Preschool Director. Unlike many other preschools, Deborah was involved in the design of the school as well as the selection curriculum at the onset. She has over 37 years of training and leadership in preschool education across the world, from the US to Canada to the Middle East. She also has a specialization in working with Gifted Children. Together with the founders, Deborah has selected a team of teachers from America, Singapore and around the world, including Mandarin immersion teachers.
“We pride ourselves in bringing out the best in the children whilst they learn in the way they love best, by playing. From my experience and from global statistics, children’s development accelerates in a conducive education environment. I am honoured and excited to be part of the George Washington Preschool.”
