Lisa Poh, mother-to-be and delightfully awaiting his arrival
As a mother-to-be, I'm looking forward to spending my first Mother's Day with my little boy next year. If I had to guess, the best thing about being a mum is probably when your child runs into your arms for a hug calling "Mummy!"
Karen M, mother of one
Say thank you to your children this mother's day. They are the reason you have the best, albeit the most challenging and headache-inducing, job in the world.
The smiles, hugs and kisses that I get from my son are reward enough for all the tough times I had experienced being a mother. Hearing him say "I love you, mommy" never fails to make me thank the stars for giving me the opportunity to be a mother.
But the most fulfilling thing about motherhood is witnessing my child make correct, independent decisions and practice random acts of kindness. These gives me a sense of pride that I have been, somewhat in my own way, a good mother/teacher to my son.
Juliette Miremont Morton, mother of three
The best thing about being a mother is seeing your kids reveal their own unique personalities from day one. Celebrating their individuality and responding to them in a unique way.
Siew May Chin, mother of one
Because you never cease being a mother, the joys of motherhood evolve with each phase of the child’s life. As children, they delight you with their innocence and purity. As teens, they fill you with pride as they navigate adolescence with the values you imparted to them. And as adults, they inspire you as they share with you THEIR own hopes and dreams.
