An 18-year-old pleaded guilty in court on Tuesday (3 December 2019) for molesting his 12-year-old sister on multiple occasions, even asking her to perform a sex act.
The boy who cannot be named due to a gag order reportedly molested his 12-year-old sister in January earlier this year and again in April when the teenager asked his sister to masturbate him in exchange for K-pop merchandise.

Molestation incidents at home

The incident first took place in January this year when both the siblings were at home alone.
The elder brother went to the sister’s room to ask about her homework where he sat next to her on the bed while she asked him questions.
The teenager then molested his sister over her shorts which led to her running out of her room in a panic.
The next incident happened just a month later after the family relocated to a new place.
There the siblings shared a room, with the girl sleeping on the main bed while her brother slept on a pull-out bed.
During their argument on what to watch on television, the teenager suddenly picked his sister up and carried her to their room.
He then proceeded to molest her over her shirt despite her screams.
Teenager promised BTS merchandise in return of the sexual act
The final offence took place on 15 April when the girl walked in on her brother masturbating.
Upon seeing this, the girl immediately closed the door and went to the living room, however, her brother followed her out into the living room while repeatedly asking her to masturbate him.
In exchange for her act, he also promised to buy her merchandise from Korean pop group BTS.
Exasperated by her brother’s repeated advances, the girl lodged a police report on 24 April, saying that she had been molested.
Prosecution considering reformative training

Deputy Public Prosecutor Ryan Lim noted that the teenager was ‘persistent in his actions’ despite his sister’s constant refusal to engage in sexual activity.
Based on this, the prosecutor considered the possibility of reformative training which is a harsher punishment than the probation that is usually meted out to offenders below the age of 21 years old.
The judge has called for reports to access the teenager’s suitability for probation and reformative training
The 18-year-old is set to return to court for sentencing on 10 December 2019.
