Student Works at Construction After Following Teacher’s Instruction

4 min read

A dropout student works at construction site after following his teacher’s instructions. By doing this, the rebellious youth experiences his mother’s hardship as a manual labourer.

Before we learn more about the situation. We must remember that teaching is more than just books and academics. It is also about reinforcing good citizenship, resilience, values, and social skills.

Academic is, indeed, crucial. However, it is also essential to keep in mind the many different aspects of teaching and learning. Always remember how much students evolve when they are in school with their teacher as their guide.

Great teachers can make a significant impact on their students’ lives. In some instances, they could have the ability to change lives for the better.

Student Works at Construction Site to Experience Mum’s Hardship

A teacher in China was able to convince a school dropout to continue his education. He took his 12-year-old student to the construction site where his mother worked as a manual labourer.

The 12-year-old student only wants to be recognised by his surname Yang. About three weeks ago, Yang dropped out of his school because of his addiction to mobile internet games.

The Chinese teacher then decided to intervene. He wanted to make the rebellious child realise the value of academics in a different light.

“When Yang’s mother said she earned around 100 yuan (US$15) a day,” the teacher explained. “Yang replied that it ‘was easy peasy.'”

After that, the teacher comes up with a way to teach him lessons found in real life. He then brought the 12-year-old dropout student to the construction site where his mum was working.

To make ends meet, the child’s mother worked as a manual labourer. The teacher took this chance to teach the kid about the importance of quality education for a comfortable life.

On the day of the student’s trip to the construction site, the teacher woke him at 4:00 in the morning. He made him work a full day at the site, just like his mum did.

After experiencing life as a manual labourer at a construction site, Yang eventually changed his mind. Afterwards, he decided to return to school on the 6th of June.

Yang aims now to “work hard” in school to “repay” his mother for her hard labour.

“I’ve learned how hard my mum is working to earn a living,” Yang said.

People on the internet were able to recognise the passion and dedication of the teacher to his students. An internet user said that the field trip is an immersive and “useful strategy for teaching kids.”

Teachers are, indeed, one of the most important members of our society. Aside from academics, they are capable of teaching students lessons they could never find in books.

Our kids’ teachers aim to give them purpose in life. They set them up for success as citizens of our world and inspire them with a drive to do well and succeed in life.

Our children will play important roles in the future. Because of this, teachers need to guide them for what comes next. They work alongside parents in this aspect.

Furthermore, teachers often act as a support system for their students’ love. They also help their student to expand their limits and push their creativity. Here are other reasons why teachers matter:

  • Role Models

Teachers usually serve as the ultimate role models for students. They set themselves as an example to their students to keep being positive, always try harder, and reach for their dreams.

  • They Provide the Power of Education

Knowledge and education are the most critical foundation for the future. Teachers are the ones that provide the power of education to the youth.

  • Guidance

Teachers guide students of all types. As educators, they need to motivate and inspire the youth to value their education. By doing this, teachers lead their students to pursue goals in the future.

  • Dedication

They say that one of the most significant parts of teaching is dedication. Teachers not only listen but also coach and mentor their students. They do not stop working even when the school bell rings.
