Student Care Fee Assistance Scheme (SCFA)

2 min read
Cost to raise a child in Singapore

Student care fee assistance

Know someone who needs help?
Do you know families who have difficulties paying their children’s student care fees? Do you know children who are not in student care because their parents cannot afford the fees? Inform them that the Student Care Fee Assistance Scheme (SCFA) can help them so that their children can go to a student care centre.

SCFA is also available to children with disabilities in special student care centres. For more information on this service, please refer to www.disability.org.sg.

What SCFA Provides

SCFA provides a subsidy for your child’s student care centre fee every month.  The amount of subsidy will depend on the type of student care centre your child attends and your household income.

Who Can Apply
• Children who are Singapore citizens. Children who are Permanent Residents (PR) of Singapore can apply if at least one member of their immediate family is a Singapore citizen;
• Children who are between 7 and 14 years of age and are attending MOE-registered schools;
• Children whose parents are working; and
• Children whose family’s monthly income is $2,500 or below.
