This June holiday, parents will have the chance to keep their child fit and healthy as the event organiser of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) will be holding a Kids Virtual Race (VR) on their Virtual Club platform.
The event will be organised from 31 May to 30 June and will allow registered child to take part in four races – each with varying distances – and compete with other children from Singapore and the rest of the world.
As it is a virtual event, participants can run safely anytime (within the race period) and anywhere, and their results will be recorded on the Virtual Club platform.

Studies have shown that running regularly has numerous health benefits for children, such as reducing stress, boosting creativity and improving attention span.
Besides keeping them fit and active, the Kids VR event will also be a great family bonding activity as parents get to run alongside their child and encourage them to complete the distances.
Here’s how to participate:
- Parents must help their child set up a SCSM Virtual Club account via this link. Registration is FREE!
- Get outside (adhering to the necessary social distancing measures, of course!) or hop on a treadmill.
- Make sure their SCSM Virtual Club account is connected to a participating running app (e.g. Nike+, Garmin)
- Complete all four races within the stipulated dates below (walk or light jog works too).
