To meet the evolving healthcare needs of its growing and ageing population, Singapore is set to introduce seven new polyclinics and three new hospitals between 2025 and the early 2030s. These developments aim to enhance healthcare accessibility, reduce patient load at existing facilities, and improve overall care delivery.
New Polyclinics for Enhanced Primary Care
Polyclinics provide affordable outpatient medical services. They are essential for managing chronic conditions, vaccinations, health screenings, and family medicine. To better serve residents, Singapore will open five new polyclinics by 2027 in the following areas:
- Bidadari – To serve residents in the growing Bidadari estate and nearby regions.
- Kaki Bukit – Strategically placed to improve healthcare access in the eastern region.
- Serangoon – Designed to support families and seniors in this mature estate.
- Tengah – As Tengah expands as a new housing estate, this polyclinic will cater to its increasing population.
- Yew Tee – A welcomed addition for residents in the northwest, reducing travel time for healthcare services.
By 2030, two additional polyclinics will be established in:
- Bishan – Providing greater convenience for residents in central Singapore.
- Taman Jurong – Improving healthcare accessibility in this southwestern estate.
These polyclinics will offer a range of services, including diagnostic tests, minor procedures, and maternal and child healthcare.
Upcoming Hospitals to Meet Future Needs
To address the increasing demand for hospital services, Singapore will also introduce three new hospitals:
Firstly, St. Andrew’s Community Hospital (Bedok) will open in 2025. This facility will provide step-down care, including rehabilitation, palliative care, and support for patients recovering from surgery or illness.
Next, the Tengah General and Community Hospital is slated for the early 2030s. This hospital will provide both acute and community care services to cater to the rapidly developing Tengah estate and surrounding areas.
Lastly, the Eastern General Hospital, also opening in the early 2030s, will enhance healthcare services in eastern Singapore and reduce strain on Changi General Hospital.

The new healthcare facilities align with Singapore’s long-term plan to improve medical infrastructure and provide residents with better access to timely and effective treatment. By expanding services across key residential areas, these additions will help reduce waiting times, improve convenience, and ensure Singapore’s healthcare system remains prepared for future demands.
With these developments, residents can look forward to improved healthcare accessibility, ensuring they receive the support they need close to home.
