Singapore Marriage Preparation Course: What to Expect

Want a lasting marriage? A Singapore marriage preparation course can help! Discover essential skills and higher rebates today!

The Singapore marriage preparation course is essential for couples who want to build a strong foundation before tying the knot. A lasting marriage requires effort, understanding, and commitment. With increased government support, these courses are now more accessible and affordable.

Higher Rebates for Marriage Preparation Courses

Starting 1 July, Singaporean and permanent resident couples will receive a higher rebate for completing a Singapore marriage preparation course. The rebate has increased to $170, making it easier for couples to access valuable lessons on communication, conflict resolution, and financial management. Lower-income couples will even receive full subsidies, ensuring no financial barriers to a well-prepared marriage.

The Singapore marriage preparation course equips couples with essential skills for a successful relationship. Some key topics covered include:

  • Communication Skills: Learning how to express feelings and resolve disagreements without conflict.
  • Financial Management: Understanding budgeting and financial planning as a couple.
  • Expectations and Responsibilities: Aligning values, roles, and long-term goals.
  • Conflict Resolution: Strategies for handling disagreements constructively.
  • Relationships with In-Laws: Building healthy relationships with extended family members.

These skills create a foundation for a strong and lasting marriage.

More Online Learning Modules for Couples

From 2025, couples will have access to 17 free online learning modules, expanding the resources available. Previously, these were only accessible to Muslim couples. The modules cover vital areas such as family life, communication, and financial planning. With these online resources, couples can prepare for marriage at their convenience.

A Real-Life Example of a Lasting Marriage

The success of a marriage lies in daily habits and mutual respect. Mr Peter Chua, 91, and Madam Molly Foong, 86, have been married for 69 years. Their key to a happy marriage? Spending quality time together.

Madam Foong ensures they eat meals together daily, and Mr Chua has always supported her through life’s challenges. Their story highlights the importance of companionship and commitment in a long-lasting relationship.

Taking the First Step Towards a Stronger Marriage

Preparing for marriage is an investment in a couple’s future. The Singapore marriage preparation course offers valuable lessons to help couples navigate their journey together. With higher rebates and more accessible learning materials, there has never been a better time to take this step.

A successful marriage starts with preparation. Couples who build a strong foundation now will enjoy a more fulfilling and harmonious future together.
