Singaporean actress and model Sheila Sim happily announced her second pregnancy in a heartwarming post on social media. Her soon-to-be baby will be her second child with her husband Deon Woo.
Aside from her recent social media post, the beloved actress expressed her excitement about her pregnancy news in different interviews. In her statements, she shared that her firstborn daughter, Layla Woo, revealed the possible gender of her soon-to-be sibling!
Sheila Sim Announces Second Pregnancy in a Cute Post

On Wednesday, the 31st of August 2022, Singaporean actress and model Sheila Sim announced the news about her pregnancy.
She happily shared the happy baby news that they were expecting through an Instagram post.
“We are overjoyed to announce that our family is about to grow by another two feet!” Sheila Sim wrote in the caption.
Since this Sheila Sim’s second pregnancy, she can’t help but express the excitement of being a parent to a new baby.
She also talked about how much she looks forward to the continuation of her parenting journey saying, “We are so blessed to experience it all over again.”
The couple was delighted to share with people that they would soon be a family of four. Their baby number two is soon to arrive just a few months from now.
At present, the actress is in the 13th week of her pregnancy. She and her husband expect to welcome their second baby around the 2nd of March 2023 via a Caesarian section.
New Baby After “First Try”
We all know the local fame of 38-year-old Singaporean actress and model Sheila Sim. In early 2018, she tied the knot with her husband, Deon Woo, after dating for around 6 months.
After the birth of their daughter, Layla Woo, Sheila and Deon eventually planned to add another member to their family.
“We were very lucky,” said Sheila Sim while explaining that she got pregnant on their first try.
She then shared that how they found out about her condition was similar to what happened during her first pregnancy. During that time, the couple learned about the news when they went out for a sushi meal.
However, something occurred to her; she thought it could be a good idea to go back home and have a pregnancy test. The thought came to her mind as she was feeling exhausted.
After doing a home pregnancy test, the couple immediately discovered the happy news. The test turned out to be positive, so they immediately stepped back to their sushi meal plan.
The same thing happened when they found out about their first pregnancy with daughter Layla. Coincidentally, the second pregnancy news happened during the birth month of her firstborn, Layla.
“We were both shocked. We didn’t expect it to come so soon,” said the actress.

The Firstborn Wants a Little Brother
Layla is just about to turn two years old this month. It is the primary reason why people are still uncertain whether she can understand the concept of having a new sibling at a very early age.
Despite that, Layla expressed how much she wanted her younger sibling to be a cute little boy. Sheila Sim then explained,
“When we ask her whether she thinks she will get a didi (little brother) or meimei (little sister), she has been consistently saying didi.”
Even though she was still in the early part of her pregnancy, the actress then added, “I feel that it’s a boy as well. Deon, too”
Aside from the baby’s gender, Shiela Sim is already thinking of what her baby will look like as soon as it comes out. She then talked about how her firstborn, despite being a girl, looks just like her father.
While hoping for her mini-me, she still said she would be grateful if the new baby grows to look like her firstborn.
“It would be so cute to have two identical siblings, all looking like Deon,” said Shiela Sim.
A Solo Trip During Pregnancy

Singaporean actress and model Sheila Sim shared that she wants to go on a solo trip before her due to have the baby. She is planning to pursue the colo trip by the end of October.
The actress thought of taking time away for her second pregnancy after hearing her husband’s suggestion. In truth, Deon Woo hoped to make Sheila Sim’s second pregnancy as comfortable as possible.
“I thought about it and said, ‘I would really like to go for a solo trip,'” she explained. “I was worried he couldn’t manage (at home), but he said, ‘You should go.’ So, I’m very excited.”
She plans on going for a five-day women’s retreat at Canggu, Bali, in the middle of a forest. She wanted to attend the spiritual yoga retreat where she could meditate, get massages, and eat healthy food.
For Shiela Sim, going on a solo trip is a necessary thing for her to do. “I want to be in the right space and have the energy to be fair to the second child,” she said.
It is one thing that she wanted to do for herself. Like her husband, Sheila Sim aims to make her second pregnancy as healthy and comfortable as possible.
She then explained that it would be better to sometimes go easy on herself. What matters the most is that she knows how to trust and understand her body more.
