Shangri-La Singapore welcomes families to experience the first-ever children’s camp within a hospitality setting in the country. As its name suggests, the Family Playcation Wellness Camp is a curated mix of fun, self-care and expert-led activities with intentional learning outcomes for the young ones.
Conducted on weekends from 17 September to 12 December 2021, it will be packaged with a three-days two-nights stay in one of the property’s seven new Garden Wing Deluxe Family Terrace rooms.
Creativity At Its Core

More than just a kid’s club, the one and a half day Wellness Camp is designed in collaboration with four key partners:
1. STABILO, a premium stationery brand offering pens and pencils for writing, drawing and highlighting;
2. Petit Atelier, an art school centred on child development;
3. The Intan, a Peranakan heritage specialist; and
4. The Alpha Mind, a consultancy that prepares children for life.
Together, they have created a diverse but holistic programme that encourages children aged 5 to 10 to let their imaginations take flight and cultivate creative mindsets.
All this is done in a safe, nurturing environment that also aspires towards improving social and interpersonal skills, developing confidence and problem-solving skills and strengthening focus and concentration. Wellness features strongly too, where conversations around mindfulness towards emotions and mental health will be held.
For instance, on day two of the camp, Petit Atelier will host a three-hour art jamming session. Children will get to develop beautiful art pieces with the help of an expert who will teach various techniques of using watercolour pencils for sketching, blending, colour theory and more.
The Alpha Mind will lead a creative writing and storytelling activity with hands-on experiential learning approach, conducted outdoors amidst the lush greenery of the hotel. Children will get the opportunity to create compelling personal stories while having loads of fun and even bring home a gratitude journal.
On day three, children will be recruited into Shangri-La’s Secret Service Agency and tasked with helping a guest solve the mystery of his missing relic before the news goes public.
Each Junior Agent will employ critical thinking skills to piece together clues obtained by interviewing hotel staff at different locations to deduce where the relic might be…or if someone has taken it. This whodunit interactive adventure is designed by Eugene Tay from The Alpha Mind.

While their children are hard at play, parents will have the chance to relax and unwind, in the Garden Wing Deluxe Family Terrace room.
This is a new accommodation category surrounded by the hotel’s 15 acres of landscaped gardens. Among its highlights is a sofa bed that can be transformed into four different set-ups, a tepee tent for the little ones and a spacious outdoor cabana. Direct access is available to an outdoor patio, perfect for a picnic and to bask in the lush greenery.

As a memento of the entire experience, each child will bring home a limited edition SL50 Kids Welcome Goodie Bag. This contains a special STABILO X Shangri-La kids activity colouring book, STABILO markers, buds lanyard, stickers and cookies.
