As part of the SG60 List, we spotlight moments that reflect who we are as a nation. On 1 June 2025, the Peace and Prosperity Singapura (PPSG) SG60 Walkathon 2025, organised by Tao One Care Ltd, brought together over 2,000 participants for a 5 km journey from Hong Lim Green to Marina Barrage. This wasn’t merely a walk—it was a symbolic journey through our nation’s evolution, passing landmarks like Chinatown, Merlion Park, and Gardens by the Bay.
60 Giant Flags: A National Record of Harmony

At the walk’s culmination, participants witnessed 60 towering flags—each 9 metres tall—with auspicious Chinese phrases, supported by more than 50 community groups. Declared the “Largest Big Flag Performance” in Singapore, this moment was officially acknowledged by the Singapore Book of Records. The flags hadn’t just soared—they heralded 60 years of peace, unity, and shared blessing.
A Stellar Line‑Up of Guests and Performers
The walkathon drew distinguished figures. Former President Halimah Yacob, serving as Guest of Honour, led the event with a warming address promoting racial and religious harmony. Other notable attendees included Minister of State Dinesh Vasu Dash, MP Lee Hong Chuang, and grassroots and cultural groups who added local character to the event.
A Tapestry of Cultures in Motion

It wasn’t just walking—it was a celebration in motion. The finale featured more than 800 performers, including Malay Kompang drummers and Indian drum ensembles. Together with souvenir packs shared by participants, these moments wove a tapestry of our multicultural identity.
An SG60 Story: More Than a Walk

SG60 isn’t just a headline—it’s a remembrance of who we’ve become. On that day, we witnessed unity in motion, blessings flying high, and a community stepping forward in celebration and purpose.
Because in Singapore, we don’t just commemorate 60 years—we walk it, share it, and live it together.
