Taiwanese idol's five step preparation for a bed scene

Taiwanese idol's five step preparation for a bed scene

Serena Fang’s bed scene in drama “Gloomy Salad Days” was well-equipped with her co-star Aaron Yan preparing for the scene in the most “dedicated” manner.

In the recently completed drama “Gloomy Salad Days,” the supernatural themed storyline has Serena Fang and Aaron Yan falling in love with each other.

On the day of the shoot, singer-actor, Aaron Yan dived straight to the set of the drama after completing overseas commitments and filmed his first bed scene for the drama.

If you watch the drama, it may look like an easy scene that Aaron skimmed through. However, in fact, Aaron was actually stressed out during the filming of that scene.

“I didn’t know where to put my hands, or how much body contact we should have,” said Serena Fang’s co-star, Aaron Yan.

The director Zero Chou then told Aaron to “give himself to Serena Fang”.

Aaron Yan’s 5 steps to preparing for a bed scene

Aaron undertook the scenes with great gusto and even came up with five steps of preparation, namely “brushing teeth, putting on perfume, doing push-ups, wearing swimming trunks and taking in a bit of alcohol”.

He even brushed his teeth for at least 10 minutes in order to retain the freshness of his breath. The actor demanded Serena Fang to “grade” him to which she gave him “face”, by replying “not bad” shyly.

As the singer-actor also wanted to look great on television, he did a couple of push-ups before the actual filming.

He explained, “I wasn’t sure which part of my body was going to be revealed, so I trained up my back and arm muscles.”

Furthermore, Aaron wanted to wear only underwear for the scene, but added an extra pair of swimming trunks after the production crew warned him about accidentally exposing more than he should.

Lastly, to relax his nerves, Aaron drank some alcohol before the shoot, only to fall asleep while the director was adjusting the camera. She shook him for a period of time before he woke up.
“I wanted to just take away my nervousness initially, but I guess I ended up being too relaxed,” said Aaron in embarrassment.

Aaron’s courage boosted after this experience, as he claims that he would “take more clothes off the next time”.

Gloomy Salad Days

This drama involves 12 different stories which happened to teenagers, taken from real life social cases. Shen Qi (Aaron Yan) is a student who has a brain tumor. This misfortune happens to bequeath him with the ability to see “Death Girl” (Serena Fang) when no one else can. As he witnesses her task of ferrying different people to the afterlife, he gradually falls in love with her and begins to understand the transition between life and death.
