It’s just a couple days until the September school holidays in Singapore start. Are you excited to spend extra quality time with the kiddos, or worried about how you’re going to keep them entertained for ten full days?!
Luckily, Singapore is awash with fun events for the whole family this September. We’ve divided our school holiday guide based on interests so get scrolling and get some ideas on what you can do to have an awesome time during the school holidays!

Star Wars: Experience the Force Singapore
Get ready for the Star Wars Force Friday II Launch when families and fans will be able to celebrate the highly-anticipated release of the upcoming Star Wars film.
Little ones aged 4-12 will love the Padawan Training where they can learn to be a Jedi at Ion Orchard. Other highlights include Southeast Asia’s first ever installation of the Millennium Falcon and tons of exclusive Star Wars merchandise. All this excitement is happening along Singapore’s most popular shopping street, Orchard Road.

Sentosa Sandsation
Sentosa Sandsation 2017 is Southeast Asia’s biggest sand festival. Running for nearly three weeks, the festival will feature over 30 giant sand sculptures, including one that is nearly 5 metres tall! Besides three zones of sand sculptures, there will also be movies on the beach and the Merlion will come alive nightly with the Merlion Magic Lights presentation.
Anchoring the three-week festival will be Sentosa Sandsation 2017, featuring more than 30 intricately-carved and larger-than-life sand sculptures of some five metres in height. Spread over 2,400 square metres of exhibition space on Siloso Beach, guests can journey through three zones showcasing different experiences, from 10am – 9pm daily.

How much: Admission to Sentosa Sandsation is free and Singapore residents can enjoy free entry to Sentosa via the Sentosa Express and Sentosa Gateway. Island admission fees for vehicles still apply.

LEGO® NINJAGO® Challenge
Unleash your inner ninja and work to defeat Lord Garmadon and his shark army across three epic battlegrounds. Do you have the Ninja spirit? Come prove to the world you’re a ninja by completing all three challenges and showing that you have the courage, perseverance and team work skills that all ninjas must have.

iWheel4Fun
iWheel4Fun is Singapore’s largest active mobility carnival returns for its second year. Join in the fun and join the bid for a Singapore record for the largest gathering of Personal Mobility Devices. This year’s event will have a big focus on safety including LTA’s Safe Riding Programme and MSG’s Families for Life programme.
Today there are an estimated 30,000 PMD riders out in Singapore. Seeing people adopt this green initiative is great, but there needs to be more information about how to keep the sidewalks safe for riders and pedestrians.

Act 3 Drama Acadamy September Holiday Workshops
Join ACT 3 for their ‘Magic, Music and Mayhem’ Drama Workshops over the school holidays. They’ve got programming running for kids as young as 18 months old all the way up to 12-years-old.
These camps are inspired by a combination of adventure, fantasy and imagination! Camps run for different durations from a single session for full five-day workshops.

Shimmer & Shine
Nickelodeon’s popular animated series Shimmer & Shine is coming to life in Asia for the first time ever. The adorable duo will be performing as part of City Square Mall’s A World of Zahramazing Fun. You can also dress up like your favourite character, or join the colouring activities that will be taking place.
When: 2 – 10 September

Learning Opportunities
KidZ & Tech at KidZania Singapore
KidZania
KidZania presents the KidZ&Tech Festival this September where kids will get to experience some cutting edge Science and technology education. Activities during the festival include a Live Broadcast Booth, a Robotics and Drone Challenge, a Cashless Vending Machine, an Insight into Negative Ion Technology, Wireless Printing and more.

Singapore Science Centre
There is so much going on at the Singapore Science Centre during the September school holidays, you could even just spend the whole week there and you would learn lots of cool stuff!
Just a few of the activities planned include a Winter MagicLand at Snow City, a Family Fun Race, a Scratching coding camp, MOE designed STar kits workshops on electricity and energy and a free digital intelligence workshop for parents and kids. Don’t forget about the ongoing exhibitions including The Mind’s Eye and Professor Crackitt’s Light Fantastic giant mirror maze.
