No one does celebrations quite like Science Centre Singapore, where fun and learning come together! Celebrate the Year of the Rooster with these exciting festivities!

1. Catch dragon and lion dances at Snow City

Never celebrated Lunar New Year in the snow before? Now’s your chance! Snow City will be marking the occasion with appearances from the God of Fortune himself (28-29 January and 4-5 February at 3pm), as well as a Dragon and Lion Dance (29 January at 3pm).

For those of you born in the Year of the Rooster, Snow City has a special treat just for you! Guests born in 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, or 2005 get 50% off on 2-hour snow play sessions from 28 January to 10 February 2017.

Your family can also learn about life in the Arctic Circle through the storytelling session “The Life of the Inuit”. How do these people survive the cold temperatures? Visit the traditional Inuit home at the mezzanine to find out!

Singapore’s first permanent indoor snow centre also features hourly snow fall experiences and even has blizzards twice a day!

2. Get your hands on these limited edition Avengers ang baos!

At Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., you and your kids can learn about how science and technology play a vital role in their favourite superheroes’ adventures. For Chinese New Year, you’ll be in for an extra treat, as every family package purchased comes with a pack of limited edition Avengers ang baos (while stocks last).

Pretty cool, huh? But that’s not all! You can also get free limited edition Avengers badges (again, while stocks last) with every activity purchased inside the S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition. The featured superhero for the badges changes every week, so make repeat visits to collect them all!

Red is the colour of celebration and good luck, which is precisely why Butterflies Up-Close is showcasing the Red Lacewing butterflies for the festive season. Up till February 12, learn more about these beautiful creatures at the Butterflies Up-Close exhibition.
