List of things for you and the family to check out during the end-of-year holidays!

We have compiled some of the events that will be happening all around Singapore during the end-of-year holidays. Tis' definitely the season to be jolly, so why don't you round up the family and start planning your festive season?

1. Project Happy Feet

Experience the reality of children who live in countries like Cambodia - having to walk 3 to 6 kilometers every day in order to get to school. Slipper Race 2016 is a non-competitive walk in flip-flops aimed at empowering education for the less privileged. Come down and do your part!

2. LEGO Help Santa Save Christmas

Your family needs to help Santa save Christmas! All you need to do is build a LEGO sleigh to enter the competition. You can either use LEGO pieces you already own or visit the pop-up event at Raffles City Shopping Centre. Other happenings such as searching for Santa’s Elves will also be ongoing during the festive period.

3. Catch 'Em All At Changi Airport


Changi Airport is set to become the home to all your favourite Pokemon this festive season! You will be in for a treat with life-sized versions of both the rarest and the most loved Pokemon.

Storytelling with arts & crafts, Mindchamps classes, a reading corner, and a kid-friendly gym have been introduced to Changi Airport as part of the new initiatives to make it more child-friendly! These activities will be available to kids whether or not they are travelling. So even if you’re not planning on getting out of the country for the holidays, you can still head down to the airport for some family fun.

4. Monkey Goes West


“Myth, mirth and mayhem make W!LD RICE’s adaptation of Chinese epic Monkey Goes West one of the funniest and most satisfying rides in Singapore theatre this year.”

This is what The Business Times has said about Monkey Goes West. It is the heartwarming tale of an orphan who runs away from home and ends up embarking on an adventure littered with all sorts of obstacles and dangers. Definitely, one to add to the holiday agenda!

7. Twilight Encounters at Night Safari


Get ready for an evening of lights, animal parades and a meet-and-greet with the majestic Chawang (the Night Safari’s famed Asian Elephant). 9. Christmas Wonderland 2016 at Gardens by the Bay


Touted as Singapore’s biggest yuletide fair, Christmas Wonderland is back to usher in the festive season with you. Gardens by the Bay will be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland with last year’s favourite, the Ice Palace, being even bigger than it was before! Who doesn’t want a white Christmas, right?

10. 90 Days of FUN in Sentosa

13. A World Full of Stories Playeum


Children need a creative place to be able to explore and develop their artistic sides! Playeum wants to be able to provide that for your child with a specially curated space inclusive of installations. 14. VivoCity’s New Playcourt


VivoCity has revamped and upgraded their playcourt and they can wait to show you what they’ve done. Head down and check out the carnival, arts & crafts, and contests that they have lined up to celebrate the occasion! It’s bound to be an all out party!

15. Singapore Wake Park


The new Singapore Wake Park at East Coast Park has been redesigned to be more child-friendly! Previously the cable-ski would operate at a fixed speed, making it harder for smaller kids to give it a go. Now, the speed is operated manually and there are 3 different stations for you to build up your skills and confidence!

16. Pokemon Research Exhibition S.E.A. Aquarium


For the first time outside of Japan, the Pokemon Research Exhibition puts your poke-knowledge to the test! Select a Pokeball and use 4 of the 8 research machines to gather clues about the Pokemon you are holding. Make sure you jot down your notes in the observation notebooks provided!

17. Mooks Chef Jr. Cooking Class

18. Buds Theatre's Drama Camps


Does your child have a creative streak and a love for acting? If so, this could be just the holiday activity you've been looking for. 19. Singapore’s First Private Flight School Takes Off


Have your child learn to fly at the Flight School SG, you're invited to their open house happening at the end of this month! Head down and have your child experience a free hands-on session on the Redbird MCX full-motion flight simulator. There will also be a series of aviation lectures being conducted throughout the day for anyone who wants to learn more.

20. Festive Workshops & Activities at IKEA


IKEA wants to celebrate the festive season with you and your family! They will be having a series of workshops and activities and they would love to have you and your kids come down and revel in the Christmas spirit. 21. Create Lab Junior Hackathon 2016

Lately has been a lot of hype around preparing your child for the increasingly tech-savvy world. The Create Lab Junior Hackathon 2016 might be just the thing to spark your child's interesting in the world of coding! Their holiday camps will give your child the basic knowledge on coding and hacking, it's the perfect stepping stone!

22. World's First Exhibition On Port Cities In Asia


The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) proudly presents the World's First Exhibition On Asian Port Cities! Bring your kids down and have them learn about the history of Singapore and other port cities in Asia. The ACM has a whole list of events happening over the course of the exhibition for both parents and little ones!

Their FUN-tastic Fridays are sure to be a hit with the kids, they'll get to play explorer for the day and even have the chance to make and take home their own Christmas gifts for whoever they please. We're pretty sure mum and dad will find something special in their Christmas stocking this year.

23. Singapore Contemporary - A World Of Art


Francesco Lietti, Italy – Macey & Sons (Hong Kong)

As a core event happening during the Singapore Art Week, Singapore Contemporary invites you to come and indulge your artistic side.Not only will there be over 90 exhibitors presenting you with art pieces of various mediums, there is also something lined up for your budding artists!

The Kids Art Tours and Kids Art Studio wants to help your little ones try their hand at creating art! This will be done through supervised art classes with the likes of Francesso Lietti and experienced art teachers. You can choose to join in or leave your kids there while you make your way through the rest of the show!

24. Family Fun With Screen-Printing


Looking for something you and your child can do together this holiday period? Family Fun with Screen-Printing gives you and your child the opportunity to pick up a new skill together. Once you've learnt the basics of screen-printing, you can go on to experiment with making your own shirts and bags!

During the workshop, you and your child will also be given the chance to learn about the importance of art and posters in the process of releasing and spreading information and ideology. Meaning that you will get a glimpse of the thought process put behind posters and the likes, definitely not something you get to do every day!
