Thrill-o-meter: Best water slides in Singapore

12 Oct, 2016

Check out the most thrilling water slides in Singapore.

Water slide

Water slide

This year’s PSLE just got over and now it’s officially time to dunk your heads in some cool water. We decided to check out some of Singapore’s coolest water slides and weren’t left disappointed. Check out our list of cool (in no particular order). These best water slides in Singapore will surely get your adrenaline pumping and recharge your brains.
Riptide Rocket at Adventure Cove WaterPark

Riptide Rocket at Adventure Cove WaterPark

This ride sure lives up to it’s name! Touted as the the best ride at Adventure Cove Waterpark for daredevils, it is one hell of a roller coaster...on water! Riptide Rocket boasts of strong credentials. It is Southeast Asia’s first hydro-magnetic water coaster. Beware, this ride doesn’t just go down. Get ready to be surprised with climbs, drops, twists and turns. Kid friendly? Not really. Not for the faint hearted either.
Torpedo at Wild Wild Wet

Torpedo at Wild Wild Wet

Torpedo, Wild Wild Wet’s star attraction, ejects you from an 18-metre-high capsule right into a heart-stopping free fall, which in turn propels you straight into a manic trajectory of hair raising twists and turns at a mind-numbing speed of up to 70km/hr. If you are looking for a hair raising and adrenalin-pumping water adventure, this is it!
Tidal Twister at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Tidal Twister at Adventure Cove Waterpark

The twists may be relatively mild in this one but the scariest part is going through a tunnel in pitch darkness. Quite frankly, you are quite relieved (and sure) to find light at the end of this tunnel! Kid friendly? Hmmm… average. Better to accompany kids in this one, as large yellow floats need to be carried to the platform.
Ular-lah at Wild Wild Wet

Ular-lah at Wild Wild Wet

"As the first raft slide in Southeast Asia, Ular-Lar is definitely a crowd pleaser and has been a long time favourite for our guests. With a similar experience to white water rafting, thrill seekers can brave the twists and turns against rapid waters with their family and friends on the same raft! The end of the ride will get everyone smiling as they splash right into the landing pool," says Mr Ronnie Tan, Director of Integrated Waterpark Resort. Children between 1m and 1.21m have to be accompanied by an adult though. Children below 1m are strictly not allowed. So, if you want to enjoy a water slide with decent thrills with your family, go for this one ! Kid-friendliness would be definitely above average.
Spiral Washout at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Spiral Washout at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Thrilling, albeit with a "dark side". You sure are relieved to soak in the sun after this one. Kid-friendliness is average as again, kids would need help to carry the large yellow floats back to the platform.
Pipeline Plunge at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Pipeline Plunge at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Get ready to be surprised at every turn by this fast, dark and unpredictable ride. The ride may be slightly nerve wracking for younger children though. Again, young children will not be able to handle the bulky floats alone. So Kid-friendliness would be below average.
The WaterWorks at Wild Wild Wet

The WaterWorks at Wild Wild Wet

Get ready for twists and turns galore, with the Waterworks, the high-speed ride that gives you a maze like effect. Only one person gets to go on this slide at a time, so make sure you are not weak hearted. This ride comes in two versions: open and covered body slides, each with its own unique route and distinctive angles. It’s perfect for friendly races to see who can hit the landing pool first! (Hint: Lying down makes you go faster!) Children below 1.22 m are strictly not allowed. So the kid friendliness is again, average.
Whirlpool Washout at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Whirlpool Washout at Adventure Cove Waterpark

The Whirlpool Washout is more leisurely and for those who just want to have a relaxing and less stressful time at a water slide. Ideal for friends who want to hang out and take super cool selfies. Kids will still need help with carrying those big floats to the platform though. So the kid-friendliness is still average.
Dueling Racer at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Dueling Racer at Adventure Cove Waterpark

Itching to race down a waterslide with your friend? This one’s for you. Get on to your blue rubber mats and go face down. This ride may be short but is still fast, exciting and gets your heart pumping. It helps that the blue rubber mats are portable, but children under 122cm must still be supervised by a parent. We would rate its kid-friendliness as above average
Slide-Up at Wild Wild Wet

Slide-Up at Wild Wild Wet

This one is like a V- shaped ramp. So, imagine plunging down a four-storey ramp, accelerating until you hit the bottom, not stopping there, but skimming across to soar across to the opposite side. Sounds Good? It helps that 2 can go on a tube as well. So get ready to share your fears and double your screams on this one. Children below 1.2m are strictly not allowed. Children below 1.47m need to be supervised by an adult. Kid friendliness would hence be average for this one.
