One of the many challenges parents face on a daily basis is making sure their kids brush their teeth.
Not only do they have to do a good job brushing, I’ve just learned that kids should brush their teeth for at least 2 minutes for best results.
So as you would imagine, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that technology can now make this process somewhat easier and more enjoyable for both kids and their parents.
I am of course talking about the Oral-B stages toothbrush for kids.
Kids’ much loved cartoon characters come to the rescue with the new Oral-B stages toothbrush. Our kids were thrilled that they were able to choose their favourite cartoon character to brush their teeth with.
So we went with ©Disney/Pixar Cars for our little guy and ©Disney Princess for our girl.
But what really got us interested was the fact that Oral-B Stages toothbrushes are designed to meet the specific age-appropriate needs and development demands of kids from 4 months up to 8+ years old.
- A Rotating PowerHead™ – Action that reaches, surrounds, and cleans multiple surfaces in your child’s mouth for a thorough clean-up.
- Raised center-row bristles are specially positioned to clean chewing surfaces.
- This toothbrush also had longer Interdental tips to easily get between teeth.
- The extra-soft bristles were great too, as they were gentle on our kids’ teeth and gums.
Upon trying out the Disney Magic TimerTM app with our kids, I felt that the kids brushed their teeth for longer since the app has an alarm that rings after two minutes.
Added to this, quite amazingly our kids started looking forward to brushing time – they didn’t consider it a chore anymore. That meant less nagging on my part to get them to brush their teeth!
This was especially evident with our little boy who really disliked brushing his teeth, but now he insists on brushing his teeth with the Magic Timer app running close by.
What my kids found most motivating were the rewards they got when they stuck to their brushing routines. Kids can earn stickers as they go, and this really keeps them interested and inspired to keep doing a good job with their oral hygiene.
Here’s another video for you to have a look at. This shows how kids can get rewards through the Magic Timer app.
Parents, all it takes is 2 minutes a day with absolutely no nagging to get your little ones to have clean and healthy teeth!
