If you get the green signal from your doctor, your second trimester is the best time to travel before motherhood starts. If this is your first pregnancy, your babymoon is even more special because vacations are never going to be the same again!

We found great reasons for you and your bump to relax and rejoice at the Andaman Langkawi. Giving the luxury collection resort a two thumbs up, we hope you have as much fun as we did! Happy travels!

It takes only 1.5 hours by plane

If you prefer to stay closer to home, this is definitely the place for you. Flight time being a short 1.5 hours, Langkawi is a quick and easy go-to for anyone in Singers. It makes for a great babymoon destination if you soak in the more laid back aspects of the island.

There a a couple of airlines flying there, which include Silkair, Tigerair and AirAsia. You’re not so far away but you get beaches and a tranquility that’s hard to find in Singapore. Time to soak up the peace and quiet before your life is all about nappies and rompers!

Their pool suite is just where you need to be

The Executive Pool Suite offers a 86-square-metre haven of luxury and privacy including a partial ocean view of the Andaman Sea. Enjoy a little down time before baby with the private plunge pool, cabana daybed and outdoor garden.

Imagine waking up, walking out to your own balcony overlooking the ocean, with the crashing of waves as a soundtrack. We absolutely loved it!

Their beds are firm, yet soft enough

Preggie women don’t want to sink into mattresses that are too soft or it’ll be hard for them to get out of bed (and it’s also not good for the back).

The resort’s mattress is adorned with a lavish pillow top, features elegant modal yarn quilting and cashmere fabric which is designed exclusively to turn your night into a time for refuelling the soul.

The view is simply breath-taking

The newly transformed resort - with a 10 million-year-old rainforest as its backyard, and the Andaman Sea as the pool in its front yard will make almost-mums (and dads) fall in love. The views you get from this luxurious oasis of rest and relaxation is breath-taking.

Spend your days lounging by the ocean, while being served by the wonderful hotel staff. Not only did the folks at The Andaman go out of their way to make my stay pleasant, they actually made an effort to get to know me – my preferences, likes and dislikes. Mums, if there’s any place for you to get waited on, it’s here!

The resort also has an in-house clinic with a medical assistant on standby 24/7 for any emergencies. This is very important for preggie mums to know, and feel safe about.

They serve the most decadent mud pie on earth!

Cravings met! We all know how chocolate can make everything better. Especially pregnancy. Now imagine warm chocolate sauce spilling over a slice of layered chocolate cake and when you put it into your mouth, it just melts away. Divine and sinful, but who cares? We’re pregnant and can have anything we want.

P.S - For ladies on a stricter diet (and with a stronger will power), there’s also a low-fat strawberry yoghurt parfait available for calmer indulgence.

They have Happy Hour at the Beach Bar for dads-to-be!

How can we leave the to-be daddies out? Husbands must gain from this babymoon too - and Andaman Langkawi has got this covered. Happy Hour at the Beach Bar begins at 5pm, and the discount offered is with the connection between hot sunny temperatures.

So a hotter temperature is what you’d hope for. 30% off drinks sounds refreshing, doesn’t it? Expecting mums can indulge in exquisite mocktails and light bites, while daddy gets his share of pampering. Come on, he deserves it!

Their pregnancy massage leaves you rejuvenated

The highlight of this property is the signature spa (The V Botanical Spa), where you can get pampered and rejuvenated in style. Treatments range from holistic therapies (Chi Nei Tsang and Holistic Gemstone Facial) to detox regiments and Balinese massages.

Good news for pregnant mums- they offer a pregnancy massage too! Done gently, moving you from side to side, it was a relaxing and revitalizing experience. The spa’s products are organic and treatments include island hibiscus, bergamot, kukui oil, sea kelp and jasmine blossom. Definitely a must-do during your babymoon!

They have coral transplanting- an activity that signifies new life

Here’s something unique to The Andaman- beneath the glistening waters of Datai Bay fronting the resort, lies an underwater rainforest. Guests can book a session for coral transplanting, a ritual which presents an opportunity to help mother nature recover the reef. This is also part of the resort’s ongoing coral conservation program. This involves transplanting a live coral colony onto substrates making use of dead corals from the reef.

The substrate will then be placed into the nursery before being relocated to the reef where it will slowly grow again and strengthen to give life to fishes living in the bay. It will be your contribution to new life in the reef that has to be nurtured and taken care off before it heads out into the water. What a representation of life- just like the one inside you. We found this activity so therapeutic.
