Pulling for a cause

2 min read
Pulling for a cause

"Pulling for a cause " weaves together two important aspects of a woman's life - beauty and health.

On 6th Oct, we're offering free eye-brow shaping all day at *Scape Playspace on Orchard Road from 10 am till 6pm.

Instead, we're asking for donations - of any amount - for the Singapore Cancer Society.

We want to grab a woman’s attention and share information on self examinations, regular check-ups, treatment options and survivor stories. We want to leverage strong female to female alliances to confront and change the impact of this disease.

Worldwide, a woman dies of this disease every 74 seconds. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Singapore. More than 1400 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and more than 300 die as a result, according to the Health Promotion Board.

Details at:https://www.pullingforacause.sg/

We’ve chosen “threading” for donations in recognition of how  devastating the disease is to a woman’s self esteem and how important it is to empower women against it. Getting our eyebrows threaded again after chemotherapy was a significant moment – it meant, hopefully, that the worst was over.

We want the day to be a fun celebration of strength and sisterhood. We’ll have food, drinks, dancing and an amazing show with guest performances by Sylvester Sim and Jill-Marie Thomas. And we’ll have our celebrity ambassadors joining us – Paul Foster, Bobby Tonelli, Linda Black, Oli Pettigrew, Kumar, Anita Kapoor among many others.

Participants will walk away with a goodie bag, a certificate of gratitude and a voucher for a subsidized mammogram at their nearest polyclinic. But more importantly, they’ll learn more about early detection, treatment options and survivor stories.
