Presented by Esplanade – Theatres On The Bay, Silhouette Theater Tsunobue brings you and your kids a new visual experience through Japanese shadow puppetry.
This premier shadow puppet troupe from Japan is introducing a magical Japanese tale through colour, light and shadows. This not-to-be-missed show by Silhouette Theater Tsunobue which specialises in shadow puppet plays and to date, has reached out to more than 12 million children worldwide. Their very first performance in Singapore. Catch them live!
The show tells the story of an old woodcutter who finds a baby girl in a shining bamboo stalk. Together, with his wife, they name her Princess Kaguya which means ‘shining beauty’. She grew into an extremely beautiful young woman within a short period of time. However, the story takes a turn as it’s revealed that Princess Kaguya is actually from the moon and she only has a short time left on Earth!
Other than experiencing and learning about the fascinating world of shadow puppetry, your kids will also get to participate in an interactive segment. Did we mention there would be sing-alongs?
