Why did prince William miss princess Charlotte's first easter?

Why did prince William miss princess Charlotte's first easter?

He had to absent from his 10-month-old daughter's first easter celebration for a worthy cause. Find out more here

While most of the world celebrated Easter Sunday with their families, Prince William had to miss his 10-month-old daughter’s, Princess Charlotte, first Easter Sunday.

The royal dad had to fulfil a previous commitment, flying to Kenya to stay there for 4 days.

It was a good thing “fun uncle” Uncle Harry was there with them. Perhaps he dressed up as an Easter bunny to liven things up?

“You’ve got to have fun in life, otherwise — well, imagine life without fun!” Harry said of his niece and nephew, in a previous interview with Good Morning America. “You’ve got to be taken seriously, but I hope that I’m a fun uncle.”

Prince William’s representatives revealed that this purpose of his visit to East Africa is to see “firsthand some of the longstanding conservation and anti-poaching initiatives” supported by Tusk Trust, of which he is a patron.

It is an organisation established more than two decades ago to initiate and fund conservation, community development and environmental education programs across Africa.

Part of his duties during this trip will be to observe as experts safely attach radio tracking collars on elephants “to help with research and conservation efforts”.

William has visited the continent on numerous occasions with his younger brother, Prince Harry, to stop the illegal wildlife trade.

William recently told ITV News about his projects in the region as well as what he envisions for his kids, that they, too, would one day travel to Africa when they get older to do their part in contributing to wildlife conservation.

“I would love for them to be interested in the subject and pursue the same sort of ideas and aims that I have,” said the royal.

He also shared that the young prince seems to have inherited his love for animals and gave a vivid prediction of his son in his teen years: “I can see George being a bit of a bum sometimes out in the conservation world with his bangles and his sandals.”

But the reason for his visit to Africa isn’t purely business, as many speculate that he will be attending wedding of his ex-girlfriend Jessica “Jecca” Craig to conservationist Jonathan Baillie at the Lewa wildlife reserve; the same place he got down on one knee and proposed to Kate Middleton in 2010.
