Men – simple and uncomplicated creatures. Remember those times he asked if you wanted a gift for Valentine’s Day and you said no (hoping that he’d get one for you anyway), but he actually DID get you nothing. Blasphemy.

#1 You can watch the game tonight
Best. News. Ever. Instead of catching up on the latest episodes of the 9pm Channel 8 show with you, he can have a night out with his buddies, all decked out in their respective football jerseys, cheering on their favourite teams. All without having to worry if the wife will call to bug him.
#2 You don’t have to follow me shopping
Telling him that he doesn’t need to go shopping with you because you’re going with a group of girlfriends instead will probably make him heave a sigh of relief. No need for squeezing alongside a bunch of sale-hungry women, or waiting outside the store with other men occupying themselves with Facebook on their phones.
#3 Let’s eat at home tonight
“Saving money, being messy and eating in my boxers? YES, PLEASE!”
#4 I’ll be working late tonight
This will mean a little ‘me time’ for him, where he’ll probably spend it playing video games, being lazy, or watching TV until he dozes off. Pure bliss.
#5 Dinner with my male client has been cancelled
As much as he says he’s okay with you having to meet that male client for a one-on-one dinner, he’d most probably feel a tinge of jealousy or worry. He trusts you, but he may not trust the client. Hearing that the dinner has been cancelled may just make him silently cheer (on the inside).
#6 I hired a handyman
He doesn’t have to fix the sink or the toilet anymore? Woohoo!
#7 Let’s just stay home this weekend
Lazing at home with his wife? Possibly the best weekend ever.
