No more yo-yo dieting: 10 tips to improve weight loss

17 Apr, 2018

Improve weight loss and finally keep the weight off!

1. 1.	Skip the munching hours before bedtime

1. 1. Skip the munching hours before bedtime

At nights, your metabolism slows done to allow burning of fats that you had consumed during the day. If you eat in the wee hours of the night, the calories will only be stored as fat. And because your willpower is slim-to-none at nights, it is likely that you’ll turn to junk foods and overeat and this doesn’t do anything to improve weight loss.
2. 2.	Drink more water

2. 2. Drink more water

Improve weight loss by drinking lots of water. Water doesn’t contain any calories and it flushes toxins out of the body. Moreover, a glass of water makes a great tummy filler if you are tempted to have a large donut or a second serving of your meal.
3. 3.	Love carbs

3. 3. Love carbs

People who go on a diet to improve weight loss usually steer clear from carbs like it’s the nuclear bomb. But not all carbohydrates are bad. Complex carbohydrates, such as those found in vegetables, fruits, beans, and whole wheat, are actually vital in producing more energy, staving off hunger and improving digestion.
4. 4.	Don’t wait until you’re full

4. 4. Don’t wait until you’re full

In order to improve your weight loss and keep it off, don’t eat your meals until you feel full. It is best that you consume only half of what’s on your plate and save the rest for later. Also, chew your food slowly.
5. 5.	Eat

5. 5. Eat

You might not believe it but eating while on a diet helps improve weight loss. Undereating actually causes the body’s metabolic rate to drop and grab on tightly to your body fat. Eating the right amount of healthy food is recommended.
6. 6.	Eliminate the little things

6. 6. Eliminate the little things

In improving weight loss, it is the little things that make a big difference. You will be shocked as to how much weight you can lose if you give up that daily Starbucks special coffee, serving of dessert, candy bar or glass of soda.
7. 7.	Always eat breakfast

7. 7. Always eat breakfast

Even if you’ve binged out the night before, you should always eat a balanced breakfast. Breakfast is considered as the most important meal of the day and could help improve weight loss by 30% to 50%.
8. 8.	HIIT it

8. 8. HIIT it

Add HIIT or high interval intensity training to your cardio routines. To start, run as hard as you can push for body for a minute, rest for 50 seconds, and sprint again for another minute. This alternating workout pace increases the heart rate, burns more calories, and improves metabolism even while at rest.
9. 9.	Lift weights

9. 9. Lift weights

Lifting heavy weights would not make you look like Terminator Arnold. Weight training will make your body appear more toned and shaped, improve metabolism, and turn fats and calories into muscles (not bulging ones!).
10. 10.	Don’t give up

10. 10. Don’t give up

When you want to improve weight loss, you need to have a lot of patience. Healthy weight loss doesn’t happen overnight or even in a month. If you want to lose significant amount of weight and successfully keep it off, 6 months to a year is a safe target.
