Here's why kids will love the new NINJAGO ride at Legoland Malaysia!

The NINJAGO Ride, a highly interactive 4D dark ride, inspired by the TV series and toy collection, has just arrived at Legoland Malaysia.

This ride is set to redefine the Legoland theme park experience for guests

Most kids just love the cartoon NINJAGO and I’m sure yours do too! So when we were invited to the launch of the NINJAGO ride at Legoland Malaysia, as you could imagine, my kids just flipped.

At the launch we learnt that this ride is Legoland’s largest investment since the opening of the theme park, and being the the very first of its kind in Asia, is set to redefine the Legoland theme park experience for guests!

Drummers and Ninja heroes

Kicking off the launch of the NinjaGo ride, guests were treated to a breathtaking Spinjitsu ninja skills performance by NINJAGO heroes Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane representing the fire, ice, lightening and earth elements, all to the heart-thumping beat of drums.

And it’s time to take a ride!

This ride, a highly interactive 4D dark-ride, is inspired by the TV series and toy collection and allows guests to become their favourite NINJAGO character allowing riders to throw virtual lightening bolts, send shockwaves and shoot fireballs - all by just moving their hands. This was my kids’ favourite part of the whole experience.

Your hands are free to try out your Ninja skills

While on this ride, you won’t have to hold any devices to throw lightening bolts or shoot fireballs. Everything is done simply using hand gestures!

The plot - defend NINJAGO World from the ‘bad guys’

The NINJAGO ride will take you on a immersive and superbly interactive journey with Master Wu and our 4 ninja heroes as you enter the different ‘dojos’ or training rooms and use your powers to scare away the bad guys. Points will accumulate as you work your way through the ride.

I had quite the laugh as I watched my kids swing their arms wildly shooting bolts of lightening at serpents and all forms of bad guys! It was as if we were right there.

In and around NINJAGO World

The entrance to NINJAGO World indeed makes you feel like you just stepped into the Training Temple where Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane train under the watchful eye of Master Wu.

The ride is the main attraction of NINJAGO World, however there are other fun and interactive things to look forward to. At Zane’s Temple Build kids can create imaginative lego models and at Kai’s Spinners they can test their balance as they stand on one of Kai’s spinning platforms.

Then there’s Cole’s Rock Climb for kids to test their agility, Nya's Practice which is an interactive 3D game and to end the experience, check out Sensei’s Shop where you can find all kinds of NINJAGO goodies for the kids.

Things to keep in mind when taking the ride

The ride lasts 3 minutes and 30 seconds and there is a height and age restriction of 115cm and 6 years of age. However if your little one is under this age or height limit, not to worry, they can ride too - as long as an adult accompanies them.

Just keep in mind that it’s probably better not to take your child if they are below 2 years of age as the lights, sounds, heat, smoke, wind and content might scare them.

Also remember that if your child isn’t able to sit down for the duration of the ride, they are probably too young to take the ride.
