National Day in Singapore 2019 is special for many reasons. This year, we celebrate not just Singapore’s 54th birthday, but also the Singapore Bicentennial – it has been 200 years since Sir Stamford Raffles’ stepped into Singapore.
Plus, this time, National Day falls on a Friday. That, coupled with Hari Raya Haji on the following Sunday, and an off-in-lieu on Monday, makes it a super long weekend for fun and celebration.

Organised by the Families for Life (FFL) Council, the National Day Picnic @ Marina Barrage offers families an exciting line-up of bonding activities that will allow them to spend quality time together!
Taking place on Saturday, 3 August 2019, families can look forward to a wide variety of fun-filled National Day-themed activities.
Key highlights include an acrobatic kite flying performance, workshops to create various crafts as well as Zumba exercises and live music performances. In the evening, families can also look forward to a display of spectacular fireworks from the National Day Parade preview that will be taking place in the vicinity.
What’s more, families can attend this event for FREE (pre-registration required). Everyone in the family is encouraged to join in the celebration and don the National Day colours of red and white!

Millenia Walk Goes Local This National Day!
Millenia Walk has gone local in the weeks leading up to National Day.

Join in the fun at OCBC Square on 9 August 2019 from 10am to 9pm.
There is something for everyone in the family, from the young to the young at heart, with the return of Singapore-themed cardio-fusion dance fitness session Sports Hub Workout Lah!, the nostalgia-infused OHANA Games featuring elements of Singapore’s heritage and many other activities.
Fitness enthusiasts can also look forward to the bicentennial edition of functional fitness test Red-X Challenge, while those who are looking to celebrate the nation’s birthday are encouraged to come dressed in red and enjoy the live dual screen National Day Parade Telecast at the OCBC Square or by the waterfront.

Celebrate National Day at the iconic National Museum of Singapore
Celebrate Singapore’s 54th birthday at the National Museum of Singapore over the long weekend!
Come dressed in your best red-and-white outfit and join for two days of fun activities featuring Singapore’s icons, exciting performances and art installations, plus a live outdoor screening of the National Day Parade at the museum’s front lawn on 9 August!

Celebrate our heritage during the National Day weekend at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall
In celebration of Singapore’s 54th year of independence, from 9 to 10 August 2019, the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) will present Heritage Hurray! 传统文化,加油!– an array of free public programmes which celebrates Singapore’s rich cultural scene, and provides Singaporeans with various touch points to immerse themselves in our shared heritage.
Visitors can look forward to a community art market featuring a curation of both local and overseas artisans, heritage trails around Balestier that unearth the lesser known stories of the precinct, storytelling sessions by local authors and veteran storytellers, as well as interactive thematic craft workshops and talks presented by local and overseas artisans and designers.
