Mummy Christina Aguilera ensures her kids feel safe and loved

Mummy Christina Aguilera ensures her kids feel safe and loved

Christina Aguilera suffered domestic abuse as a child, and wants to make sure her kids don't go through it.

Grammy award winner Christina Aguilera told sources that she experienced domestic abuse while she was growing up and now, after becoming  a mummy to two children, she ensures they grow up in a safe and secure environment, feeling loved.

Christina has 2 kids - a 15-month-old daughter Summer Rain, and 7-year-old son Max.

"I made a decision very young that I would never put myself in a situation where I would feel helpless to a man and that I would be able to make money for myself and my future children so they wouldn't have to suffer at the hands of abuse. I want to give my children the gift of loving music without having to use it as an escape, like I had to."

Christina is closely associated with an organisation dedicated to preventing domestic violence called HopeLine.

She also has a piece of advice  for other mums- to always make time for themselves.

"We all have breaking points and it's hard sometimes to find patience and to find the energy when we're exhausted."

Aguilera's take on life is refreshing. The fact that she encourages and inspires other women to be kind to themselves shows us the kind of woman she is -- strong, confident and beautiful, inside and out. We love you, Christina!
