Shocking! Mum potty trains kids in restaurant!

Shocking! Mum potty trains kids in restaurant!

Potty-training your kids is no easy task but one mother took to potty-training her children in a restaurant. Did she go too far and what would you have done if you had been in the restaurant? Take our poll here.

Shocking! Mum potty trains kids in restaurant!Potty-training a toddler is no easy task but one mother pushed the bounds of good taste when she took to potty-training her children in a restaurant in plain view of other guests who were trying to enjoy a quiet meal.

Unappetising sight for other patrons

Restaurant patrons were not expecting this unusual addition to their regular dining experience when the incident took place at the Thanksgiving Point Deli in Utah. A mother had brought her babies’ potty to the restaurant, placed it on a chair and let each of her twin children sit on it. The potty-training reportedly took place while the family was eating at a table in the middle of the crowded dining room. An onlooking patron, Kimberly Decker did a double-take and realized to her shock that the girls were actually sitting on a pair of toilet-training potties.

Undressing at the table

“I noticed that this lady was having her two – she had twins, two little girls about 2-and-a-half years old, sitting on what I thought were booster seats,” said Decker and also added that the mother of the twins had also undressed them before potty-training them at the table:

“She had to undo the jumpsuits, and take them all the way down so they were completely nude, with the jumpsuits down to their ankles just eating their chicken nuggets, sitting on little toddler potties,” Decker told a local TV station, “‘The more you thought about it, the more unappetizing everything looked around me,’ Decker said. ‘I was like this is not ok, we’re eating, there was a business meeting with about five or six businessmen going on right next to me.”

Questionable practice leaves bad taste in patrons’ mouths

Decker was apparently so appalled at the public display of potty-training that she took a photo of the scene. A photo of the tasteless incident was then posted on Facebook before being removed due to a policy violation.

A spokesperson for the Thanksgiving Point Deli said the staff didn’t notice what was happening or else would have asked the woman to take her children into the bathroom to use the toilet facilities. The eatery  received several complaints from patrons who were present at the time.
