Marco had no income for almost a year-and-a-half due to the pandemic, he shared in the interview with 8Days.

His mental situation wasn’t the best either, so much so that he had to see a psychologist. He admitted that he even considered ending his life, but it was his daughter Jessica, who put a pause to these thoughts.

His wife Lihua, who is 20 years his junior was rumoured to have cheated on him multiple times. In fact, things were not well between the duo for quite some time.

A Hong Kong media revealed that they slept in separate rooms for more than five years. But tried to act normal for the sake of their daughter.

Talking about why his marriage didn’t last, Marco said that he feels that while he’s an outstanding father, he could have been a better husband.

He mentioned that there are no right or wrong parties in a divorce.

“It can happen because people change and even I changed a lot,” Marco said. He further added that maybe he neglected his wife while ending up paying too much attention to their daughter.

Marco has revealed that he is open to finding a partner who can move in with him. But they may not tie the knot.

Marco Ngai Opens Up Further About His Break Up With Joyce

Hong Kong actress Joyce Tang and Marco were once TVB’s golden couple. They dated close to a decade before calling it splits in 2007.

Marco shared that he and Joyce actually never had any plans to take their relationship to the next level. After being together for so many years, all of a sudden, they “lost their feelings” for each other.

He explained that he had no plans of getting married to Joyce because he was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to differentiate between what’s acting and what’s real. While, he did love Joyce, he also found himself distancing himself from the relationship, the more popular the actress got.

Joyce then went on to marry Matthew Chu, Canon executive in 2013. To this Marco says that “seeing the couple happy makes him very happy.”

While Marco thought of his daughter and could pause the suicidal thoughts on time, but not everyone is as lucky as him.
