Is it possible for a man, who’s promised to love and protect his wife for the rest of his life, to also attack and hurt her?
Sad to say, the answer is yes. Police officer Rohaizad Maznen was recently sentenced to four months in jail for assaulting his wife in a period of over 9 months. In one of his assaults, he broke his wife’s second toe in the right foot.
The assaults started when they were just 3 months into their marriage. His wife Madam Salina Abdul Rahman was said to have accused him of having an affair causing him to become agitated. Because of this, he slapped and punched her. This happened in October 2007.
Then in January of last year, he kicked and punched his wife because he suspected her of stealing from him. More assaults happened until mid-July of last year. The Straits Times reports that the couple are now into their divorce proceedings.
