Balik Kampung to LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort for Raya

This Raya guests can experience and appreciate Malaysian Malay culture and traditions through incredible in-park cultural shows and activities until 21 May

LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort is ready for guests to balik kampung to the resort this Hari Raya Aidilfitri. From 21 April until 21 May, the resort will transform into a heritage Malaysian kampung where guests can watch traditional performances and learn about Malay culture through curated activities.

In Kampung LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, guests can lounge in the Halaman Desa or Anjung Seri dressed in their best Raya looks. Younger guests can also choose to wear batik and songket designs available at the resort so that they fit right into the kampung backdrop. Keeping the family entertained this  Raya will be a breeze with traditional games such as Teng Teng, Chapteh, Congkak and Batu Seremban

available throughout the resort. Don’t worry – if you can’t remember the rules of the games there will be a  Model Citizen who can help refresh your memories.

“At LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, we believe that what sets us apart from other theme parks in the region  are the experiences we give guests that leverages on Malaysia’s rich multiracial character, culture and arts.  We have taken a page out of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture’s (MOTAC) book and doubled down  on our uniqueness to create an authentic Hari Raya experience.

We invite everyone who is keen to learn  about Hari Raya influences and traditions that Malay families practice during this celebration to join us at  the resort before 21 May,” said CS Lim, Divisional Director at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.

“This campaign by LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort serves as a great model of how the industry players can  play their part in helping to reimagine tourism by leveraging on our cultural uniqueness in Malaysia. We commend LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort for their creativity in driving tourism to Malaysia,” said YB Tuan  Raven Kumar a/l Krishnasamy, Tourism, Environment, Heritage and Culture Exco for Johor State.

Guests at the Raya festivities will discover plenty of LEGO® magic as they experience Malaysian culture through inspired music, entertainment and activities with their family and friends. Highlights of the Raya  Festivities at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort will also include:

  • Ziarah-menziarah at SEA LIFE Malaysia and receive a little something sweet. Just like when  Malaysians balik kampung, guests can go from “Kampung” to “Kampung” at the aquarium to collect stamps and receive a special treat. This is designed to symbolise the Raya tradition of visiting families at their homes and receiving Duit Raya.
  • The MINILAND Aidilfitri Hunt, an educational scavenger hunt where guests can learn about the different types of Kampung House designs in Malaysia. Guests who can name all the five types of  Kampung Houses located in MINILAND and find all the LEGO Wau Bulan, Chickens and Hibiscus  Flowers can win an exclusive LEGOLAND Malaysia-themed prize.
  • On weekends, Special Raya Activities will have guests learning about how batiks are traditionally painted and how to weave a ketupat.
  • From the opening of the resort to closing time, guests will be entertained with traditional and modernized Malay tarian performances.
