The mom of two and “House of Lies” star stopped by the Ellen to talk about her trip to Africa with husband, fellow actor Dax Shepard before they had kids.
The funny couple documented their adventure in a hilarious video, which has since gone viral.
But the conversation soon turned into a discussion of parenting truths, which was no less hilarious.
The actress, also known for the now-defunct show Veronica Mars, says she loves her two young daughters Lincoln (3) and Delta (1) dearly but mornings at their home are anything but peaceful.
“It’s a circus, for sure,” Kristen told Ellen. “I mean, I love it. I love them. But, you know what? You know where we could do better? Why does everyone wake up screaming? Like, why don’t they tell you that? Like, ‘They’re going to wake up screaming — for, like, four years.’ The moment you wake up, you’re in, like, a horror movie, ’cause everyone in the house is screaming bloody murder.”
Kristen added, “They don’t get up and make your coffee, like I kind of thought, maybe, they would.”
When Ellen asked how motherhood has changed her, Kristen joked that she’s “partially deaf” before saying that she’s now developed a habit of giving dietary advice.
“I find that I’m so into health food and just healthy living that my girlfriends and my friends, I feel like, are a little bit over it,” Kristen said. “‘Brazil nuts. Everybody got a can of Brazil nuts?’ … My friends are like, ‘We know! We all read the Internet.'”
