It’s the news all fans of the incredibly down-to-earth British royal couple have been waiting to hear – the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is going to be mummy for the third time!
The exciting news was confirmed via an official statement by Kensington Palace, as Kate cancelled her engagements for the day due to severe morning sickness or Hyperemesis Gravidarium
In a statement, the Palace said:
“Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.
“The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
“Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today. The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington palace.”
The third unborn child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be the fifth in line to the throne once born.
The more the merrier!
It was always predicted that the royal couple would have three children. While Kate has two siblings – sister Pippa Matthews and brother James Middleton, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh had four children.
The third pregnancy comes despite Prince William telling a group of Singaporean teenagers in 2012 during his visit here, that he was ‘thinking about having two [children]’. Looks like his gorgeous wife convinced him otherwise!
We wish our favourite royal couple the very best and hope Kate gets relief sooner rather than later from her acute morning sickness, which she also suffered from while pregnant with George and Charlotte.
