Singapore’s First Full-fledged Karting Arena Will Soon Welcome Families To Their 2nd TrackSingapore’s First Full-fledged Karting Arena Will Soon Welcome Families To Their 2nd Track

Professional and leisure karters will soon have a new place to race when The Karting Arena opens its second track in Jurong.

Singapore’s premier destination for karters, motorsport enthusiasts and thrill seekers – The Karting Arena, will soon be celebrating the official opening of their second track in Jurong, offering a full-fledged karting experience.

Since opening their first track in Bukit Timah, The Karting Arena has earned an enviable reputation as Singapore’s ultimate motorsports playground for electric go-karts.

With two locations, The Karting Arena is now Singapore’s only track with electric and petroleum-powered karts for the best all-rounded karting experience.

The newly revamped 153,000 square-feet karting facility at Jurong will offer both professional and leisure karters a new space to fulfil their adrenaline rush while uncovering the Jurong district.

Full-fledged Karting Experience

Karters can look forward to racing on a 700-metre long track of pure excitement with 11 technical turns. Offering thrills at every turn, there will be ample overtaking opportunities for karters to take on the wider straights while putting their skills to the test as they accelerate out of the corner to hit top speeds.

With more room on track, there will also be more speed and exciting grid-starts for group events of up to 30 go-karts on track at any one time.

The venue was a design collaboration between award-winning studio, Park + Associates, and the new owner-operators of The Karting Arena to deliver a vibrant yet immersive race oasis amidst the raw industrial elements of Jurong.

Designed to host professional race events with a race control room, track cameras and a viewing gallery on the 2nd storey, the open-air circuit offers an ideal vantage point to capture the excitement of racing while watching the karters in action.

With the cancellation of the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix for the second year running, this will be the closest thing motor enthusiasts can get to an authentic motorsport experience outside the professional world and the place to be for some race action.

In addition to experiencing that exhilarating sense of freedom on the track, karters will be pleased to know that they can unleash themselves and enjoy a fast, fun and safe racing experience within their comfort zone.

The track was designed with recommendations from professional race drivers to deliver the most thrilling race experience on track and at the same time adhering to CIK-FIA safety requirements. Some track features include:

  • The only race track in Singapore with a minimum track width of 10-metres throughout for added safety.
  • Equipped with Tecpro safety barriers homologated by CIK-FIA, similar safety system installed in Formula 1 circuits.
  • Well-lit track optimised for night driving.
  • Tyre wall at strategic locations for extra protection and safety.
  • Remote stop/speed system regulated by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) for emergency stop of all go karts on track in case of incidents. Speed of kart can be controlled remotely to suit different requirements of driving (30km/h or 50km/h).
  • Multiple CCTV cameras are present on circuit to ensure safety of riders and patrons.

Be it slick and speedy or slow and steady, karters can choose their racing experience with speeds of up to 30km/h or 50km/h with a valid drivers’ license.

This includes a racers’ and VIP lounge, private garage units, a helmet disinfecting station, race control room, lockers and more.

Visitors can enjoy an unobstructed view of the track with an elevated viewing gallery, or choose to host corporate events at the fully-equipped indoor and outdoor event spaces that offers the versatility needed for both small parties and large-scale events.
