Changi Airport's Newest Attraction: A Go-Karting Track For The Festive Season

5 min read

In today’s edition of “Do they now have this too at Changi?” the airport recently added a go-karting track as one of its attractions. As far as an indoor go karting track in Singapore goes, this has to have the most interesting location.

The Changi Airport remains one of the most popular across the world for its wide variety of activities available indoors and the new go-karting track takes it a notch above by all means. As all attractions go at Changi, it’s not just kids but adults too who will particularly enjoy the thrill of fast go-karts indoors.

The new Dino Kart go-karting track can be found at Changi Airport Terminal 4’s Departure Hall (at check-in row 4), and will be there until January 2, 2022. The track will be open every day until then.

The timings fluctuate though with it operating between 2.00-10.00 pm between Monday and Wednesday, and from 2.00-11.00 pm between Thursday and Sunday.

It’s not just fast electric go-karts that make the space interesting. The circuit is dino-themed borrowing quite a few bits from the Jurassic era as you zip through the sweeping corners.

You can check out the disco lights and dinosaurs installations that will certainly make for fun pictures as part of your holiday album.

In all fairness, as far as attractions go, the Changi Airport manages to amaze us time and again. The go-kart certainly feels like a fantastic addition and manages to blow our minds.

Now only if travelling restrictions can ease for Christmas so that we can make some plans and head to the airport to put in some hot laps.

Dino Go-Karting Track: What Does It Offer?

What else can be more thrilling than flying in a metal tube that goes at 500 kmph? Being in the driver’s seat at an indoor go karting track in Singapore at the airport.

The go-karts make for some fun wheel-to-wheel action in a safe space. Moreover, the 400-metre long track is just the right size to explore your driving skills and twice as long when compared to the inaugural karting track of last year.

The circuit comes with 10 corners and has a top speed of 24 kmph. While that may not seem like a lot, do consider that these are extremely light go-karts and electric with power coming as soon you floor the pedal.

Customers can choose from the two track layouts – Novice and Pro. The novice circuit is for kids from the age of nine years and above with prices starting at $15. Meanwhile, the Pro circuit is for kids who are 13 years and above with ticket prices starting at $18.

You can also avail of discounted rates for the season with a minimum spend of $25 at Changi Airport or Jewel, which can be redeemed at the Dino go-karting track.

Like we said earlier, there’s plenty to discover as the Changi Airport with so many activities happening concurrently. If fast cars don’t excite you too much, you can also look at some activities to make your visit worthwhile.

Some of the other activities happening at T4 include the Dino Carnival that brings some old-school fun to the terminal.

  • Make sure to gorge on the dino-shaped curry puffs and footlong hotdogs while you’re there.
  • You can also try out the dino bounce castle and let your kids bounce away. It’s also a nice way to tire them out before a long flight so they can catch up on some sleep. Just make sure you don’t have those footlong hotdogs first.
  • In case you were thinking that you don’t get enough time at Changi, you can now camp it out in the airport as well.
  • Customers can book glamping tents at the T4 transit area making for a fun stay at the transit area overlooking the runway. Each tent gets its own queen-sized air bed with pillows, blankets, bedside table, charging points, and even a Bluetooth speaker. You can easily have up to three people in one tent or a family of four (2 adults + 2 kids). You do get access the creature comforts including the shower at allocated time slots.

One of the more interesting stay options over a standard business hotel, prices for the Changi glamping tents begin at $360 per night between Monday and Wednesday and $390 per night between Thursday and Sunday.

Prices are at a premium on public holidays or the eve of public holidays at $420 per night.

Bookings for the glamping tents begin from December 3, 2021, and will be available till January 2, 2022.
