Husbands share how they have found The One

13 Feb, 2015

How did you meet your spouse? But most importantly, how did you know he was The One?

Maybe it was his smile or his quick wit that made you fall in love with him. Maybe it was how he always supports you no matter what that got you "hooked."

This time, though, we turned the tables and asked husbands to share how they knew their wife was The One. Their answers are nothing short of adorable yet profound!

Samuel has been married to Emily for nine years after they met 12 years ago. Samuel says this about Emily:

"You don't know The One by just one thing. You never do. The One is a lot of small things that come together just so.

Little things like how she laughs at her favourite TV show, or the way she holds you after bad day.

Her boundless faith that tomorrow will be better and her ability to do ten things at once without ever making you feel neglected. That's how I knew she was The One for me!"

Eric and Melanie have been married for almost ten years and have two beautiful kids together. Eric shares how he knew Melanie was The One:

"I really knew she's The One when I realized I had found someone who finally made me smile. The reason being I was truly happy for the first time in my life!"

"She gets a perfect score... always!"

Kevin and Julie met years ago when they studied together. Although Kevin is usually quiet with his feelings, he had this to say this about his wife:

"I can't really explain how I knew, but Julie and I were together for eight years before we got married, and she's the only one I know who got a perfect score when we answered Reader's Digest's Word Power Quiz!!!"

"I just knew she was for me"

Ryan and Yvonne have been together for almost ten years. Ryan says:

"I got to know Yvonne during university orientation in Australia, as she was the mentor assigned to our group.

From the moment I saw her, somehow I just knew that she was The One and I wanted to get to know her better.

Well, let's just say that our relationship blossomed shortly after that. We got married five years later, and today we're blessed with a mischievous two-year-old daughter."

"It didn't take me long to realize..."

Priyanka and Rohan have only been married for a year. But Rohan explains how he knew Priyanka was the love of his life:

"It didn’t take me long to know I’ve found The One in Priyanka. I guess knowing you have found someone who cares more about you than she cares about herself was a game changer for me!"

"She still makes my heart skip a beat!"

Andrea and Michael's love story spans a decade. Michael says:

"I knew she was the one when I saw her beautiful smile and experienced her generous heart 15 years ago.

None of that has changed even though we've been married for ten years.

She still makes my heart skip a beat."

"Her personality was magnetic"

Nigel was lucky in love from a very young age! He met Maya, his wife of nearly nine years, when he was just 14 years old. Nigel reminisces about their early romance saying:

"Our connection was instant! When I saw Maya for the first time, I felt like I had been hit by lightning. Her personality is magnetic, and I am still drawn to her to this very day!"

"It was her intelligence that got me!"

The "oldest" couple in our line-up is Alex and Sarah. Married for almost 20 years now, Alex says their love took time to blossom.

"Sarah played hard to get for a while and was even a little proud. When I finally got to know her, I realised she wasn’t that proud. She was just very shy.

She was more intelligent and studious than anyone I knew, and it was this that made me fall in love with her and know that she was The One for me!"
