Not a lot of men get to surprise their partners with a pregnancy announcement, but that’s what this dad got to do. There aren’t few forms of birth control that are as fool-proof as getting a vasectomy, but this young dad managed to get his wife pregnant after the procedure.
Tim Brummel, 25, began to notice that his wife Rachel, 26, was acting “a little bit pregnant.”
“How many guys get the chance to tell their wife she is pregnant?”

“She was tired a lot, a little bit more hungry than normal, felt a little bit nauseous,” he explains in the video. “We joked about it, but we knew she couldn’t be pregnant.”
But then it dawned on them that they never got the results from Tim’s follow-up checkup. “I never got my results back, so I figured no news was good news,” Tim explained to People. But after his wife began showing signs of pregnancy, Tim contacted the clinic, got the results, and found out: it was possible.
Tim decided not to tell his wife about the failed operation until he confirmed her pregnancy. “How many guys get the chance to tell their wife she is pregnant? I wanted to surprise her!” he said.

Tim turned off the toilet water in the middle of the night and flushed so that there was no water in it. After his wife used the toilet in the morning, he got to work with a pregnancy test, which came out positive.
The dad left some flowers on the kitchen table with the positive pregnancy test and a card that read, “To my baby mama, if you ever worried that life would be a bore, put that fear aside, you are now a mommy of four.”
Thankfully, the couple were happy about the news
“We’re definitely not upset, we had wanted to grow our family through adoption anyway,” Tim said. “It’s a little unprofessional not to let us know, but those [procedures] aren’t perfect, so I don’t fault them for not working.”
The couple have three young sons, and are expecting one more boy.
