My husband can't stop watching porn. Should I be worried?

2 min read
My husband can't stop watching porn. Should I be worried?

For some couples, watching porn is perfectly normal. But for other couples, it's a big no-no. Either way, too much of it can be a big problem.

For some couples, watching porn sometimes helps spice up their sex life. But too much of it can cause a lot of problems in your relationship.

When is it too much?

So, when can watching porn be considered a problem? It would really depend on your setup. Different people have different boundaries when it comes to porn. For some wives, it’s okay to let their husbands watch pornography, sometimes they even watch it themselves. However, other wives don’t like porn, so they don’t let their husbands watch it.

So, when does it become a problem? Well for those whose husbands don’t usually watch porn, it can become a problem if they start watching it behind your back, or they lie to you and tell you that they don’t watch porn, but they still do it in secret. This is a problem since as a couple, you need to be honest with each other.

On the other hand, for couples who are okay with watching porn, it starts becoming a problem if your husband prefers to just watch porn instead of  being intimate with you. If it’s directly affecting your relationship, then it’s a legitimate concern that you have to deal with.

What can you do about it?

The first and most important thing to do would be to talk to your husband about it and air your concerns. Tell your husband why it makes you feel uncomfortable, but you should try to be as sensitive as possible since it’s a very tense topic.

If your husband’s habits have just suddenly changed, then ask him what brought on this type of change in his behavior. It could be due to a number of reasons, and addressing the root cause of his porn addiction is very important.

Another thing that you can do would be to visit a marriage counselor. Sometimes, a person’s porn addiction can be so deeply ingrained, that professional help and an intervention is needed. In this case, it’s important to be supportive and work with your husband so that he can overcome his addiction.

Regardless, it’s important to constantly work on your problems, and be honest and open when it comes to issues like these.
