How to speak the language of love in your marriage

How to speak the language of love in your marriage

language of love

language of love

With our lifestyles starting to move faster, there are many things that seem to get put by the wayside. More often then not it is our marriages. We get so busy doing things for the kids or managing our jobs, that letting your spouse know you love them gets lost somewhere. It does not have to be that way.

Learning to speak the language of love does not always mean you have to talk. Many times actions can speak way louder than any words you can say.

Special gifts

Special gifts

Take some time to send your spouse or loved one a gift. It does not have to be anything big and fancy. It can be just a small token or maybe a hint for a romantic interlude.

Just a little show of love, to let them know that you are thinking of them. Small gestures can mean a lot to someone who may be feeling left out lately.

Surprise lunch

Surprise lunch

Lunch time, for many people who work, is mainly the time they catch up on things they missed. Instead of sitting around your office or job, take the time to grab your special someone and meet for a small intimate lunch.

Be spontaneous and relax, do not discuss work, the kids or finances. Just be there with each other and enjoy each others company.

Compliments

Compliments

Everyone likes to hear good things about themselves. It makes them feel extra special when they hear it from the one they love. It can be something simple as complimenting their jewelry or what they are wearing. Many couples think you have to do things big just to show how much you love someone. While big is nice, it is not always necessary.
Date night

Date night

Date Night is a must for adults, especially if you have children. This is only time adults get to spend with each other. Take the time and try a new restaurant each time you go out. Experiencing different things will help to broaden your interest and appreciation of each other. Do not be afraid to hire a babysitter overnight. Talk about things that concern the two of you, leave out the kids and the jobs. Enjoy the evening and work on showing each other how much you love each other.
Spouse comes first

Spouse comes first

Now for those of us with children, this may really get lost in translation. It is hard being a parent to put some before the kids, but you have to. Putting your spouse first, let's them know that they come first in your life. This can really go a long way on those days when we are so wrapped up to say " I Love You".
