What is a Love Bite?

A love bite, also known as a hickey, is a reddish bruise that appears as a result of a  love bite or suck  on the skin.

It occurs when small blood vessels under the skin burst due to pressure, causing blood to be trapped and forming a bruise.

Usually, love bites appear on the neck or shoulder area and can last for several days to a week.

How to Make a Love Bite Correctly?

A love bite or hickey is not just a sign of affection, but also a way to increase intimacy in a relationship. So, how do you do a love bite correctly so that your partner can enjoy this romantic moment more?

1. Make Sure Your Partner Agrees

Before trying anything, make sure your partner is comfortable and agrees. Not everyone likes having marks on their skin, so communication is key!

Ask in a playful tone or insert it into a joke to see their reaction.

2. Choose the Right Area

The neck and shoulders are the most popular areas because they are sensitive and easily stimulated. However, if you want to avoid too obvious marks, you can choose other areas such as the chest or arms.

3. Start With a Soft Kiss

Don’t just keep on pouncing! Turn up the heat with slow, gentle kisses in selected areas. This will not only make the couple more relaxed, but also increase the pleasure.

4. Gently Exfoliate the Skin

Use your lips to suck on your partner’s skin with moderate pressure for 20 to 30 seconds.

Do not use your teeth as this may cause pain or minor injury. If you want a clearer mark, you can repeat this step carefully.

5. Check and Adjust

Once you’re done, look at the results. If the marks aren’t too noticeable and your partner wants more, you can repeat the process with additional light suction.

6. Give a Caress Afterwards

Don’t stop after giving a love bite! Gently rub the area, give a sweet kiss or compliment your partner to keep the romance going.

This also helps reduce any discomfort.

How to Get Rid of Love Bite?

If you or your partner need to cover up a love bite quickly, don’t worry! Here are some ways to speed up the recovery process:

1. Apply Ice

Wrap an ice cube in a cloth and apply it to the love bite area for 10-15 minutes. This helps reduce swelling and stops the bruise from spreading.

2. Use a Cold Spoon

Place a metal spoon in the freezer for a few minutes, then gently press on the love bite. This technique can help shrink blood vessels and speed up healing.

3. Massage Gently

After 48 hours, you can gently massage the area with your fingers. This helps improve blood circulation and speeds up recovery.

4. Apply Aloe Vera or Arnica Cream

Both of these ingredients are known for their anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce redness and speed up skin healing.

5. Cover With Makeup

If you need a quick solution, use a concealer or foundation that matches your skin tone to temporarily cover the love bite marks.

Is Love Bite Dangerous?

Generally, love bites are harmless and will go away on their own within a few days. However, in rare cases, they can cause:

  • Blood clots – If the love bite is too strong, it can damage small blood vessels and cause blood clots.
  • Skin infections – If the skin is injured or irritated, it is at risk of becoming infected with bacteria.

If you experience unusual pain, severe swelling, or signs of infection such as extreme redness and pus, it’s best to see a doctor.

How Long Does It Take to Get Rid of Love Bite?

Love bites will usually fade within 5 to 12 days.

depends on several factors such as:

  • Suction strength – The stronger the suction, the longer the bruise will last.
  • Skin type – Individuals with sensitive skin may experience more noticeable bruising and take longer to heal.
  • Treatments used – The use of ice, massage or cream can speed up the healing process.

The Ruling on Making a Love Bite in Islam

In the context of a husband and wife relationship, giving a love bite can be considered a way of showing affection and intimacy. However, Islam emphasizes manners and limits in showing affection:

  • Make sure the mark is not visible in a place that can be seen by others to protect your dignity and privacy.
  • Avoid going too far in showing intimacy outside the home as it can invite slander or negative views from society.

How to do a love bite correctly can be a fun way to show your love to your partner.

Most importantly, always talk to your partner and make sure both parties are comfortable and enjoying this romantic moment together.
