During pregnancy, have you everParentsI’m wondering, is it safe to have sex with two bodies like this?

Especially if the gestational age has entered the third trimester or is even approaching the Estimated Date of Birth (EDD) .

While the stomach is getting bigger and the pregnant woman’s room to move is also becoming more limited.

Quoting fromVoice.com, an obstetrician and gynecologist from Siloam Hospital Semanggi, dr. Ardiansjah Dara Sjahruddin, SpOG, Mkes, actually suggests that pregnant women, especially if their pregnancy is already 9 months old, to have sex with their husbands regularly.

The reason is, having sex during late pregnancy can actually help the body increase the production of the hormone oxytocin.

This hormone will later function to stimulate contractions, thereby facilitating the labor process.

“Because sperm can stimulate the production of the hormone oxytocin which is useful for helping contractions in the uterus to facilitate the labor process,” said Dr. Ardi.

In addition, Dr. Ardi also suggests that pregnant women who have reached 9 months of pregnancy remain active.

Light movements such as walking will encourage the baby’s head to move into the pelvic cavity which is the birth canal.

“This condition will help make it easier for pregnant women during the labor process,” he said.

4 Conditions That Do Not Allow a 9 Month Pregnant Woman to Have Sex

Although pregnant women who are 9 months pregnant are allowed to have sexual intercourse, there are a number of conditions that prevent them from having sexual intercourse.

So, what are these conditions?

1. Premature Rupture of Membranes

The amniotic fluid that protects the fetus in the womb can rupture prematurely or rupture prematurely.

If a pregnant woman experiences this, she cannot have sexual intercourse because it will be very risky for her health.

This is because when the amniotic fluid breaks prematurely, the mucus that protects the cervix is swept away, exposing the fetus to the world outside itself.

The risk of infection also increases and will be greater if pregnant women have sex in this condition.

2. History of Premature Birth

If a pregnant woman has previously given birth to a premature baby, then it is best not to have sexual intercourse when the pregnancy is 9 months old.

This is because the hormones produced during sex can trigger premature births as before.

That is why doctors usually prohibit pregnant women from engaging in sexual activity when their pregnancy is 9 months old.

3. Carrying Twins

Sexual activity is also prohibited if the pregnant mother is carrying twins . This is because pregnant mothers with twins are very susceptible to premature birth.

As a result, your doctor may not recommend having sex, especially if the fetus has reached the pelvic cavity.

However, some doctors may still allow it, so further consultation is needed to ensure whether or not it is safe to have sex for pregnant women with twins who have entered the third trimester .

4. Placenta Previa

Placenta previa is a condition where the placenta is inverted so that it faces the front of the fetus.

This position is very unsafe for the baby, so pregnant women with this condition are not allowed to have sexual intercourse, especially when they have entered the final trimester.

Sexual intercourse in this condition will trigger bleeding in the placenta, which provides nutrition for the baby and endangers the safety of the fetus in the womb.

As additional information, apart from the conditions above, having sex during late pregnancy will basically not disturb the existence of the fetus in the womb.

Penetration of the penis into the vagina will not bother her because the baby is protected by the amniotic sac.

Now, Parents, that is the answer to the question of whether having sex during the 9th month of pregnancy is allowed or not.

Although it is recommended, there are some conditions that make this activity prohibited. So, consult a doctor based on the health conditions of the pregnant mother and your fetus.
